Then I changed my mind because of the lack of parts that are readily available incase of a part failure. Then I started looking at SR20's and KA-T's. That is currently whats in my head. But I did just see a S13 with a 1j in it and that sounded amazing lol.

I really could get by with a SR or KA though my goal for now is only around 300hp
For what it's worth to you, a very close friend of mine has a KA-T S14. Last year he made 300whp and 305lbs-ft of torque on a stock bottom end.

    SR's are for quitters.

I'd say you should go with a RB20 though. Cheap, rev happy, original, and its bulletproof. As well as paving the way for an RB25 or RB26 swap.
If you're going to spend the money an an RB20, you might as well spend a few extra dollars and do an RB26. No sense in half-assing a swap.

I disagree with it being half assed, especially when the price jump between an RB20 and a RB26 is 2000 - 2500 dollars.

But either way RB > SR.

If I were to go with any 2.0 motor it would be the SR because of the weight difference and part availability. RB25 would be my first choice of a RB though

100% agree with the 20 not being worth it. The reason I want to go SR over KA is just the simple fact that ive never built a motor and would **** to throw a couple grand at something and just blow it up. But we shall see what happens.

          Only thing a RB20 has over a SR20 is a exhaust tone..

Currently it isnt a track car and no I wouldnt call it street drifting but a clutch kick here and there is deff fun and I do enjoy it..
Good point. I am used to seeing already built cars here transform into something even better.

Have you removed the timing chain guide from the KA yet?

Oh yeah, if you want to set yourself apart, look into the chuki DRL/fogs. Only seen one chuki with them ever. Same with the JDM chuki sides, no one seems to have them.

Sorry, wasn't feeling too good last night and felt like ****** on everyone.

              SR20DET swap

We are pulling the ka and cleaning my bay this week and then saturday we should be pulling the sr and putting it in my hatch... December 15th is my first legitimate drift event so I will have some sideways photos/videos then

looks fun. Not bad enough to be embarrassed driving around, but not too nice to stop you from driving hard. In for more :3

Well I guess I should update this thread. I recently added a Pignose lip to my Sharknose 240. Heres a horrible photo, its the only one I currently have but itll do.

For the second part of this update the SR swap is complete and running amazing. My buddy Brandon and I pulled the KA in the middle of the week and then saturday we decided to pull everything from the black car and put it into my red hatch.

                            Pulling:

                            Out:

Although we did run into a issue with it running properly. It would start but barely idle and when you stepped on the gas it wouldnt go at all. Anything past 1/8th throttle would kill it. After trouble shooting for a couple hours I gave up and came back to it sunday. Im not sure what it was but I ended up checking the fuel pump in my car and the black car. Mine was stock and the black car has a walbro 255 in it. Swapped them quick and bam it ran like a beast. Although I dont have any photos of the initial swap I do have these. This past weekend I started a wire tuck so that I could prepare to tub my front end. The last photo shows one reason that I want to tub this car lol.
