Slick ride! My old man used to shuffle me around in an R107 when I was a kid. At the time, I didn't think much about the car until he let it go. His was black-on-black, 3.8L with a double timing chain conversion and polished heads that he did himself. I'm still looking for it in the SoCal area, but I doubt it's still in good condition. I have plans to connect with my roots and put the suspension on air, so this thread is inspiring to me.
Keep us posted with the suspension mods. I've always wondered if new arms could be fabbed for bags. The height profile is mad crazy. If the exhaust system could be tucked into the chassis, I suspect it'd go pretty low. I even had an idea to run the pipes into the rear US spec bumper and make tips that's shaped like the two black rubber nubs.
I get how the Euro spec bumpers are slim and sexy, but the sentimental memories makes me want to keep the fat US ones so I can sit on them before it gets fitted.

Unfortunately that ship has sailed, we've already decided to put the money towards the garage instead. If you have a good shop in the area though let me know and I'll get in touch with them.

If it would quit raining I'd go out and take some pictures of it outside the garage

Yeah. If there was any shop near me that could handle this I would have had it done months ago. Maybe an opportunity will present itself eventually.

If we weren't so far apart I'd tell you to bring it down to us. I'd love to get one of these under my belt.

This car is just to beautiful! If you do go with the idea of putting it on air, you wont ever regret it.

please put it on bags i was so in to see this completed and laid out . please dont give up man i believe in you. You dont have to find a shop that does air installs as much as someone who can measure and fabricate a bracket for the spring cups.

Jason, if you want to talk about making bag brackets let me know. I made the cups for my w108 and I didn't modify the body at all. I imagine it's a similar suspension setup but if you wanted to take some pictures next time you have the wheels off I can give you an idea of what needs to be done. It's really not too difficult and it's too bad you're not closer, I would love to help out. I think this car needs air to look right.

I really can't
Part of me wants to keep this setup as simple as possible since its in such good shape. I'm not overly fond of permanently modifying the suspension. I'll keep it static for this season and see how I feel after that.

there's always a chance I'll end up doing it anyway, but not without finding a shop I'm comfortable with.
