Yes.... it is the calling card that the Devils Brigade used to leave after a raid in ww2, it was an early psych out/terror tactic they used. My grandfather was an original member of the First Special Special Force. In this cars case though..it referred to the 2jz that was bring planned for that car.

Sorry for OT on your thread, J

Ha thanks man. I'm going to be sad to see it go too, but I need a daily driver now that Krista got a new job and we can't carpool.

J, just checking out your build thread for the first time.

I love your car man.. so pimp, so clean. Pleasure having it in my driveway periodically.
Will be sorry to see it go, if it does. But I can't wait to see what you have for me to work on next if that is to be the case.

My vote on the rims? Petrol Blue/Green.. body color. 80's throwback

And your photo skills!! I have some additional shots I took here I'll add from my other computer..phone pics, but not bad.

Once I finish the 944, the Ti, the Z3...something.. I need to roll with you and catch some of that camera glory.

Love it! I think the height of the tire is great - maybe go 10mm narrower but def wouldn't go down to like a 45 series tire if its a 50 now. Looks fantastic.

O -and I vote silver. Or one color per side haha

I'll let you know. I'm going to be putting it up for sale this spring but it's unlikely that I'll remove the euro bumpers unless some crazy person isn't interested in them.

If you part it out at some point, keep me in touch then! I want the bumpers so bad.

As much as I'd love a set, I think I'm done spending money on this car. I'm ready to move into something that will be a bit better for daily driving.

I might be able to get some euro headlights soon if you are interested. I'll keep you in touch. There's a euro 450SL for parts close to my place... With the Penta AMG

    Awesome!

My wheels are 16x9.5 all around. They rub in the front both inside and outside, lol, but most of that is due to the tire size. The rear has enough space to go at least 11" wide.

Hoping to do some rolling shots this weekend if the weather cooperates, then it's time to start tearing it down to repair some stuff. I'll probably be selling it this coming spring.

Wow man. Your R107 is crazy! I bought myself a 450SLC 77' about 3 months ago! Sadly, since I'm in Quebec, Canada, I can't drive it until April... and I don't have any room for it in my garage so I'm stooring it somewhere else! The good part of that is that it only has 94 000 miles and is in excellent condition. I love that euro bumper, wish I could find one. What's the size of your wheels?! I was thinking about some 16x8 in front and 16x9, don't think I can really go larger than that...
