I was hoping this thread would be good. It is!

Let's hear some sound clips of the turbo setup on the old motor if you have them... I chuckled when you said "the engine supposedly has 300k" :P

Reinstalled the rear beam tonight. I may have overdone it on the camber, but even all the way down there's still room for the tire in there.

I could always look for more aggressive wheels, or run a spacer or make another beam.

Never such thing as excess camber when it comes to a car that you'd be lucky to have such camber lol. I'd leave it as is, it can definitely give you more play room for wider wheels by the way, what are the specs on those wheels?

Interested to see how the coilovers hold up seeing how its made for a double wishbone setup. I wanted to do the same back then but people advised me against it since they are not made to handle the stress and stuff from the MacPherson setup but then they all went whiney mode with people going lower than 2" claiming how its going to ruin the handling and be unsafe!!111 Eff that not everyones gonna track their car lol

I don’t expect the shocks to be a problem. The shaft size appears to be able the same size as stock. Of course I know nothing of the inner workings, but time will tell.

Worst case, I have to buy a set of replacement dampers.

Next expense is going to be some tires. The bitch of it is that I work for the head office of a pretty major tire retailer ... but the size I want is apparently unavailable in Canada (at least through regular distribution channels) so I wont be able to work any crazy deals on them.

I think his worry is more that you are centralizing what used to be a more spread out load to a less supported structure (could be wrong though)

Yeah this. 50% of the load is spread out to the upper wishbones vs MacPherson supporting all the load of the car hence the bigger shaft but then I've heard of people doing this and its been fine so definitely keep up updated!

Oh and nice work so far

Absolutely inspiring, and not only that, well done.

in it's entirety. I rarely say this, but THIS is my favorite build on this forum.

bump, for a well done build.
"on our way back i hit a bump and both of the springs slip off of their seats and slashed both of my front tires."

If your not doing this, your doing it wrong.
