Oh and I went to pick my brother up from his friends today and on the way home I saw this:


It was gorgeous! Not really a fan of the graffiti but it is almost exactly what I want mine to be. just seeing it was enough but the owner came back and got in, I am not sure what kind but he had a racing seat and I had to contain my laughter. Then he attached his steering wheel . But oh god when he started it up

It was glorious, I wish I could've talked to him but he just threw it in reverse and drove off. But the cherry on this perfect cake was to hear the turbo(s) spooling. I couldn't contain myself the whole way home I was smiling!

Hey, I woulda loved to chat, but I work for a defense contractor and am not technically supposed to park my car in front of the building. The graffiti was just for fun cause the car's a bucket and I don't take it too seriously. It did land it a spot in a music video for a local artist and in an ad campaign for a spray paint manufacturer. The steering wheel quick release is so I can get my fat a$$ in and out of the tiny door and I've had racing buckets in almost every car I own (I just prefer the support and less cushion). On the 240 I built my own coilovers front (with shortened strut tubes and Saab struts) and back, my own upper camber plates, my own adjustable panhard rod and torque arms as well as boxed the rear arms. I converted it to be a high compression turbo with 3"straight straight exhaust. It's making 437whp (not really) and is a hoot to drive (that part is true). If you wanna chat sometime, just let me know. I won't be driving this for too much longer hopefully, but my new project is still Volvo though.

What year is she> I'm just starting to work on an 88 245. there are a lot of good post on the brickboard to fix the wiring in the hatch. FCP Groton http://auto-parts.fcpgroton.com/sear...wiring+harness has replacement harnesses for the tail gate. just make sure you order the right one. changed between 1985 and 1986

It's an 83! And I was planning on moving the wires and doing something like in the trunk of my dads 330ci

VOLVO BROTHERS!! I am always glad to see these getting attention. We will have to get together once you are done and have a wagon ballerz session.

Also the hatch wires....on the two I have owned almost nothing has worked on the hatch. Wiper, no. Sprayer, no. Defroster, once. When you finish, lets build a volvo time machine and go back in time and punch the guy behind that idea in the nads.

Alright so time to fess up, your Volvo was the reason I bought this car. I saw it at StanceWars 2012 and took several pictures of it. I thought it was the best car there! I read the build before I went but had no idea you were going! So I owe all of this to you Thank you so much!

And yes I do agree we should punch that guy, but then congratulate the rest of the people because these things are swedish mercedes! They are way ahead of their time in my mind!

to fix the hatch harnesses you could get new ones from ipd or just resolder and heatshrink or loom the existing ones and pull up the harness a little to expose fresh unexposed harness. i've replaced a couple of them on my 245's. the tricky part is realigning the hatch and getting the gaps right after you remove the hinges

Actually I was planning on going bags eventually, but for now I think I will either get coils or have my Uncle compress the stock springs.

Haha yeah thanks man! I gotta make sure it's all working and I bought this car to be a real learning experience for me. And since I bought the car for $400 I figured it doesn't really matter if something doesn't turn out the way I wanted or envisioned.

And my family told me they would not ride in it until I thoroughly cleaned it out because this thing was nasty under the carpets. There was dried up milk and french fries in there.

But on the bright side I did find about 3 dollars in change, and all of the VW Jetta parts that came in the back end got my like 5 dollars at the metal recyclers. So I say I am headed in the right direction!

And just so you guys know this thread will be slowing down . I just started college yesterday and my car is an hour and a half away and I have no car here to drive so it's all up to when my mother() is willing to make the drive to come get me. But on a good note a bus will take me for free about an hour away from home! So thats a good thing
