  • thanks guys. super excited about how it feels now that it isn't saggy anymore. Coming up in the next few weeks, I need to:

    1. Shorten the front strut housings to lower the front some more.
    2. Repaint the hood, wetsand and buff the car.
    3. Finish the rear valance I'm making and paint that
    4. Install non-ac euro center console
    5. Buy/install some spacers to get the tires a little closer to the fenders
    6. Install the Racing Dynamics header and maybe a side pipe

    • so scratch #4 from the list. It was fairly involved considering I bought a cracked up beater of a console and spent a lot of time repairing it. I also entirely deleted the A/C evaporator and blower motor and all unnecessary wiring, but the euro console is in!

              • Spent the last couple days taking advantage of our fantastic weather down here in the gorgeous south I never wetsanded or buffed my car after finishing the paint, so that was on the to-do list. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. Foam pad and meguiars m105 and m205 followed by gold class wax. My paint went from like a 600 grit to buttery smooth. Stoked on the results.

I've picked up a TON of rock chips. Mostly thanks to a rally stage I found off of a back road. But I'll wear them proudly. I did build this car to drive after all. Just means she gets loved every day.

Also changed out the headlight trim rings from the ones off of the US lights from Hank the Tank. They were a subtle change, but made a big difference.

I still have love for a few hondas, but driving a BMW is a special thing.

You aren't any time soon. Not planning on getting rid of my leather Nardi stuff.

My shift boot was one of the last things in the interior that was lookin bad so I took my new granny skills and made a new one

E21's have undercoating on the rockers from the factory, and since I painted it I kinda thought the white rockers made it look like a cheap maaco job, so I put herculiner on them. Should help with rust, and the texture is fairly accurate.

And that brings me to this rear skirt thing I've been working on. I picked up a rear bumper from a Honda or Acura something or other in the junk yard that matched the basic profile I was looking for. I wanted something that kind of had a soft curve that would sweep under the lines of the car with a lower "lip" to keep it looking a bit sporty. I found one and cut the top off then sectioned the lower part to narrow it and remove the exhaust cut out, as it was on the wrong side of the car anyways. I cut on either side of the exhaust cut out and grafted it back together. Here are some pics of the fab and some loose test fitting. Should hopefully be painting it this week sometime.

                              • Woah, that rear lip/valance/bumper thingy looks great! And the buff and painting the rocker panels made a huge difference, looks awesome!
