Dove in head-first with the Recaro restoration. I didn't expect perfection, but with that worn bolster, it was getting worse and worse and shaving the foam down every time I'd get in or out of the car, so I wanted to at least make it better than it was. I've never done upholstery or used a sewing machine, so I enlisted the help of my 72 year old grandmother, who is a badass and awesome in every way. The pics are pretty self explanatory, so I'm just gonna dump them and comment as necessary.
These things were saggy and sucked so I made new ones out of a ratchet strap
The south will rise again
obviously I sewed those
Got the material from JoAnn's fabrics, cut the old stuff apart, traced it, sewed it back together
so for 35 bucks, my seat doesn't look like shit anymore! I didn't replace any foam, so it isn't perfect, but I'm stoked about how it turned out. Plus it actually folds forwards and slides front to back now since I repaired all the little linkages and stuff.
