Bought some plasti dip and a gun and planning to go matt white. I have a spare bootlid so thought I'd have a practice Here's some pics.
trying to get the hang of the sprayer..
Not very good and really textured after three coats (there was worse but I didn't take pics)
After six coats I kinda got the hang of it and it dried quite smooth with a tiny bit of texture (which is what it does). I left it and tried the peeling thing today after work..
It works! and is do-able. I need to find somewhere to spray it inside though because it picks up dust/hair/pollen/pubes really easily if doing it outside.
Had a few cracks in the paint so rubbed it down and thought filler primer would sort it. Primed it up, had me tea, went back out an hour later... errr...
Soooo, start rubbing it down and it's not painted under the black paint, it's some sort of plastic coating that's not been keyed and is super shiny, hence the cracking. Took me nearly two ours to get this far with diluted nitromors and white spirit.
