Yes, you can cut and re-angle the pickup. As long as it remains nonrestrictive and has smooth transitions.

If it really sit's as low as you said, there must be a shallower stock front sump pan...

Holy cow, really? They're over 1.5" taller!? I don't see how the engine even fits... I honestly have less than 1/4" clearance to my hood in 2 places

There's the difference, he's using M60 mounts. Grab some of those from Revshift, they're cheaper than new rubber ones. Plus I helped design them haha.

I'm using the e30v8 mounts, they're the newer style, but same dimensions as the older ones. And them polly m20 mounts.

His car is pretty much all E30V8 parts, so I'm sure yours would sit the same if you used the same pan as us. I had to cut his pickup tube and raise it 7/8", but it still hung below the pump itself so there's plenty of clearance there. It still holds 6.5qts too.

And I'm totally copying your exhaust setup for his car btw haha
Whaaaaaaaaaa, no. That looks like a road race pan or something. Mine is like this, but modified to fit around the steering rack as you said.

I may have to get a road race pan, like this one

ROUSH Authorized Dealer in Houston Texas. Ford performance and tuning specialists. Superchargers. F150 performance. Mustang parts and service.

    And oh yeah

I'm continuing out the front valance too, when I get the chance.

And that was the plan, but I need to run a hard line for oil pressure, figure out why the alt doesn't always charge, various other things and have the cage built before the second semester of school(when I'm bringing it with me) so I don't think it's happening this year :/

^That is the pickup I'm using, theoretically, I could cut a bit out, then re weld it? It wouldn't be a drastic change, but it would prevent the pan from sitting on the plate as it is currently doing.

Either way, this won't happen for a while but thanks for the help Jaze! I'm amassing some small parts here at college, so I'll upload pics as I get them

This is true, but I do not know much about the 5.0 oiling system, and that much less about the e30

    Pussy, bring it.

This. After seeing what Swoops has done for pans, I'm convinced that inexperience is what the problem is here.
    I was suggesting it,

Wonder if the oil picmup could be shortened or reangled?

I'm not arguing at all man, just consider what I said and if it makes sense do it, if not dry sump it. Either way it won't hurt, can't wait to see where it goes

I can't help on what pans or pick ups work but if you take some pics and measurements I'll help out as much as I can
