Nothing happened to it, it's just sitting in the corner of my shop collecting dust until I can afford to throw some more money at it.

                • Man, it's almost 2am here and I've finished reading this, every night i took my phone and started reading your thread as a good night story literally haha, so much love and work in this gem. Cant you like atleast update the '02 with something? Like new tails or so? But yeah reality sucks sometimes, i understand that money is the issue, which is the perfect time for making those roof racks and tables and turning them into money! Anyway good luck with every path you choose man, cheers

                  • So I was going through your build on the get rag 245 and I'm curious, it appears that you are going with your shifter from your 02 but I've read that most recommend doing the IE shifter set up but will it be find with the 02 one? I'm shopping parts right now for mine and the one in my 02 I just rebuilt earlier this year so I wouldn't mind reusing it if it doesn't cause issues.

Pretty much my favourite thread ever

Keep going, I can't wait for updates

                        • Just wanted to pop in and say thank you to the last few guys who took the time to comment on my thread, reading stuff like that makes my day and makes me miss working on this thing so bad.

I was having a weird night a few nights ago and typed up a full "for sale" ad for the Roundie Revival. I basically decided that it was time to let it go and that I wasn't in the place to have a project of this stature anymore. Now that I am self employed and depend on my shop as my livelihood, I barely have time for any personal projects at all anymore. While it has its total advantages, it's just different, and my priorities have shifted.

I spent a few hours typing up the ad, outlining all the work I had done to it, going through all the pictures and summing up all my expenses thus far. Finally it came time to hit the "submit new thread" button and I just couldn't get myself to click it. Reflecting on the entire build was a trip down memory lane at this point, and I started to feel uneasy at the thought of giving it up. This car taught me many skills and it's the reason why I am trying to make a living for myself doing what I love to do.

Even though the extra money and valuable shop space would be nice to have back at this point, I can't fathom passing this project on to someone else, so I decided that I will be finishing this project following my original plans, even though it will take a lot longer than I anticipated. I won't be able to invest in the 2002 anytime soon as I'm trying to build up my shop with new tools and equipment, but I'm hoping that it will eventually all pay off and I'll finally be able to afford to finish this project to my standards.

In the mean time, the '02 will be patiently sitting in the corner of my shop while I work my ass off to make shit happen.

Thank you to everyone who has followed this build and taken the time to offer positive input and feedback, you guys are the best! I can't wait to start posting progress on this project again!

                          • Hey man I know how you feel. I think all of us go through this, I just always remind myself Rome wasn't built in a day. Who cares if it takes the next ten years, in ten years you'll have a car that is priceless.

                            • So glad you are not giving up on this AMAZING project. Shiet happens in life that can stall our dreams, but in time we can make them happen. You've got the skills and abilities, the day will come when you can get back to it. In the mean time, we'll have to continue to look forward to more updates! Props to you for holding on!
