I'll be changing the color, not exactly sure what I'm going to end up with but I'm not a fan of the original color personally.

Just wondering why you went the the hose style clamps on the CV boots and not the CV boot clamps?

Those wheels are going to fit the car so well. Good choice.

          Thanks!

That's what the boot kit came with, I actually prefer it that way. I don't really see the difference, does it matter? just curious

I keep seeing those bbs with custom sizes. Do you bring them to a wheel dude and tell them to widen them? How does that not throw off offset?

Ps: I'm still n00bin hence the dumb question.

The BBS' that I bought are 2-piece wheels, which means I can take the lips off and exchange as I want. There are companies that make wider lips which bolt right on. Naturally, this affects the width of the wheel and the offset as well.

The BBS RS are 3-piece wheels, which means the lip, face, and barrel are all separable so there is more room for customization. They are usually more sought after and more valuable, but I like the look of the RM's better.

You can also widen 1-piece wheels, a lot of people do it with stock steelies. That's where you take it in to a special shop and have them weld a new barrel/lip on. I don't know too much widening steelies though so I might be leaving some info out.

If thats what came with the kit, than go with it. The other style are cheaper and I believe balance better because they don't have the nut/bolt on one side. Other than that I dunno.

Thanks for quick reply. Always forget about the spares for 2/3 piece wheels that are created out there!

So it turns out I got scammed on the BBS RM's. The seller fed me some story that he had an awesome opportunity to buy an E36 M3 and needed to sell the wheels quick, which is why he "sold" me them for $600 shipped to CA. He sent me a message saying he received the money and will be shipping them within the next few days. That was about 5 days ago. Now some other guy posted on the thread saying that he also sent payment for the wheels and hasn't received any sort of response from the guy. We both filed claims through paypal so I'm really hoping we'll get refunds.

I even researched the guy a bit before I sent payment on the wheels. He had sold a few sets on VWvortex previously and has been a member since 2008 and there were no posts claiming he was a bad seller. It just sucks, because it makes me not want to trust anyone online. I don't really know what else I could've done to legitimize the deal. I've heard good things about Paypal disputes though so I have high hopes on getting my money back, but I won't rest until the money is back in my account.

I realize that there is a chance this is a big misunderstanding and the seller isn't intentionally ignoring me, but I feel that's very unlikely. His profile shows that he logs in everyday but he fails to respond to my PM's.

                        • Sorry to hear about the wheels, hope you get your money back.
I once got my money back for a amplifier after a paypal dispute no problem, no hassle (they send it but it was broken, at first they claimed it was not their responsebility)

                            • Thanks!

Apparently a third dude sent payment on the same wheels too and hasn't heard back from him! I don't understand how this idiot thinks he'll get away with selling the same item to 3 people through Paypal and be able to stall them for 45 days so it's too late to file a dispute. At least that makes it more promising for us to get our money back.

                              • Im sorry man! That kind of shit sucks! Hey, you should come down to the Bay Area 2002 Swap And Show next month. I know the car wont be done but you wont regret the drive. The last two years have been great and there are all ways a ton of cool cars there. Last year there was a M1 and lots of cool non BMW Euro rides in the visitors parking lot.
