Hey, heres some details on the alterations that have been carried out to get the m3 lower cross brace to fit my 328. my dad made up these plates from stainless steel and welded two nuts to the back of each. These are then gonna be married up to the front subframe by boring out the existing holes to house the nuts, this way it will sit flush on the subframe and can then be welded in place.
why would you want a cross brace on the car? it's goin to hit everything.
alright dude, now youve said that... ive just got back from my the workshop where its up on the lift cos im doing the clutch and just realised how low the brace will hang when i was sizing it up underneath :-/
so probs just gonna leave that for now. gotta make some kinda guard for my fuel filter though cos the plastic cover has been ripped off and the filter is battered to fuck! haha. Steering rack is scuffed up too. whats yours like underneath?
Camber arms i thought would be straight forward to fit. they aint though. gotta move the diff though to get the top bolts out. Hopefully be rolling tomorrow though with its new clutch and camber, while its in the workshop might wind the coils down a bit more on the back too.
nice , i just pulled my diff the other day. having a set of rear camber arms lucky i saw the top bolts for them and relised that it wouldnt come out without the diff out :/ .. i also was thinking of a cross brace just for protection, so im guessing it just makes stuff harder ?

yea man, just stiffens up the car a whole load more. but it does protect the sump to a certain extent too. thinking i might install the plates that we made to mount it then just put it on for trackdays.
just found a good link on how to remove the diff. 3 bolts and i should be able to slide it back enough to get the top bolts out.
Just got back from a productive day in the workshop!
Hey, just fittted up my new clutch and rear camber arms. car is looking much more stanced, ready for spacers and lower profile tyres.
Drives quality with the new stage 2 clutch as well. can proper feel it biting and is much easier to get the car going sideways now.
Anyway heres a few pics of what happened today:
New clutch all mounted up:
Heres how fucked the old clutch was:
Unbolted diff to free up the top bolts to remove old lower arms and fit new ones:
New Camber arms, for now ive set these 3 mm longer each side, just till the coilovers settle. Then ill probably adjust them a bit more:
This is how the rear camber is looking now:
well happy with this!!!
Stay tuned... More to come.
