  • Lukesebastians E36 328S build

    Hi,

    Heres my BMW E36 328S

I bought it at the begining of september with a pretty good spec list:
    • spax rsx coilovers
    • adjustable front top mounts
    • front strut brace
    • 323 inlet conversion
    • bored out throttlebody
    • gruppe M airfilter
    • BBS RC 90 & 91s
    • Z3 short shifter
    • full leather
    • rebuilt head

Been running it like this for the past few months, but decided now to fully make my own mark on it and do my own few thing, Also forgot to mention its got a full scorpion decat system with stainless manifold.

Overall the car is in really good condition and has been looked after throughout its life.

I recently cleaned up the front end a load with replacing the foglamp holes with blanking plates i made myself out of old numberplates, the 36 is also running no front plate now and got a US spec front number plate plinth, just need to get some black kidney grilles then the front is finished for now untill i find a splitter i like.

This week coming im fitting a stage2 Fastroad/Trackday Clutch by drivetorque which i bought from larkspeed.

Then ive got these bits on my list to do before summer show season:
    • Rear lower camber arms (sitting in my garage waiting to be put on)
    • Rear Strut Brace
    • removing sub and amp from boot and building into a false floor above the wheel well
    • lower X brace to be fitted from e36 M3, requires subframe alterations
    • then changing front tyres to 17/195 for a bit of stretch with 10mm spacers
    • And rears for 205 and 10mm spacers with lower camber arms set for -2 camber
    • Momo 280 team wheel

More details on E36 M3 Cross brace...
Unlike the m3 and e36 cabrio models the coupes didnt come with subframes you can bolt the x brace into. to do this you can either buy rivet nut sets from bmw to fit it or... mine and dads approach, make mounting plates, bore out subframe holes and weld plates to subframe. much simpler and cheaper. Ill post some pics up of the fabrication work weve done as we fit it.. hopefully next week when it goes up on the ramp for its new clutch.. Also forgot to mention. as most low e36 owners know, Chassis rails have a major tendency to be in conrtact with the floor 90% of the time, We've decided to strengthen up the chassis rails somewhat by welding 3mm think stainless plates over them to give a bit more protection. If all goes to plan the 36 should be riding hard and stiff with its strengthened and braced underside pretty soon.

    As For wheels:

The style 5s are in pretty good condition, would love to refurb them but might leave that till next year now as i wanna concentrate on getting it well stanced for show season. so for now will just be changing up tyres for lower profiles for more stretch/camber and lows.
Id love to cange up the 8j barrels upfront for 9s to match the backs and then put black bolts in and change the centres to red, orange or be boring and just go crackle black, crackle texture would offeset polished lips quite nicely... probably. lol.

so there you go, my plans for my ride, hope you liked reading, any questions or sugestions are welcome. heres a few more pics:

Just ordered up my lowlifeuk.com window sticker...

            Reminds of a special E36...

Any shots of the engine and interior?

I know, not sure why the caps are slightly lighter, was like it when I bought it. Might run it without centres to see how it looks. Thanks for the positive feedback though
