Damn, never realized this build was going on. Really nice work so far! I'll be following this one closely for sure. It's gonna be a hit once everything is buttoned up.

By the way, you can convert the car from hydroboost to a regular breakbooster. Also have you thought about going with revers wilwood pedals?
thansk zic. ive looked into converting it briefly, but i concluded that the hydro assist is better than the vacuum and i really dont want to mess with the most important part of the car. the pedal box was already swapped in and is just fine for what i need. it would have been a cool addition though.

i may have referred to your engine bay pic a couple of times for inspiration. ok, more than a dozen times....

the thing that sucks for me is that i have hydroboost, so i really dont have many options to get the brake bomb off the bay for a 100% item-less look. still brainstorming though....

got a couple of shots. i had got sidetracked for a bit with a nice 91 318is that I had for a while. mint car and i did a timing case overhaul just for piece of mind. it was really fun and i planned on keeping it, but the e23 is my project priority, so I decided to let it go.

im currently finishing up the wire tuck for the e23 at the moment. i still need to wire up the electric fan and extend some misc sensor wires. its been a long slow boring process but its almost there. the engine bay is almost now nice and bare.

the cool part about the fuse box is that you can take it apart and de-pin all the connectors at the rear....so at least i didnt have to cut the wiring on that side of the harness. its still a pain in the ass though.

i need to polish or paint the valve cover and intake manifold next, as well as shave the bay from all the old brackets that are left over.

i finally got a call from MemoryFab that my lips and barrels were ready, so I took a trip over to the east bay to pick up my parts..

Sweet build dood, the grey market e23 always has a place in my heart.
i love the 745. im sure it hauled ass. it takes actually driving one of these cars to understand what makes the e23 a great car.
