linkage is fixed. got a real alignment today and noticed when my camber is correctly dialed in, my passenger front wheel doesn't poke as much as my driver side. something funky going on. got a readout of how out of whack my rear toe is. the right side is toed in a half inch and the left is toed in a quarter inch. i'll fix that up tonight. gonna do my thermostat since it's stuck open and once i hit cold weather my gas mileage will suck a lot.
flipped the tires in the rear to get some fresh tread.
any more i would have been on the belt. what's another good tire to stretch? these falkens suck balls.
that's how far off my rear toe was. now it's straight as an arrow. camber's even, alignment is good. i'm all set now. new trans fluid, axle, seal, i did a lot of work to this thing this week and it's been back breaking. it feels so good to finally have a stanced ccobalt that drives better than a lowered cobalt on stock struts
modified engine mounts, raised 1/2" either side
shimmed rear trans mount 1"
lowered front trans mount 1/4"
shifter linkage nig rigged for now, broke somehow.
...rear toe pulling me all over the road
passenger side axle seal seeping (got seal)
driver side axle shot (got axle)
got new saab manual trans fluid (yes my car is a saab)
tow hook drags on the ground, and is very satin pink.
felt so good to drive again. just gotta get that rear toe in check. my car will be at old town in kissimmee, fl tomorrow night 5pm
i **** cobalts too...you have no idea how much of a pain this thing is. they're butt ugly stock. fast, but ugly. i owed money on it when i started the build, once it started coming together i just grew to love it. the amount of work i've done just to get this thing to sit nicely on wide wheels is just absurd.
yeah man luckily all my family in florida are mechanics and have nice shops. i would have been able to tackle this at home but it's nice to have a 60 year old master mechanic around lol
