Looking really good. Engine bay is going to be so clean without the master cylinder and booster in there...

I love you even more now.
SO.
You may have noticed that I haven't updated this in a while, well that's because I'm an idiot and blew up my truck. For whatever reason, swapping in a 5.7L v8 rather than another stock motor seemed like a much better idea.
You can view that idiocy here:
I haven't really touched the car myself in 10 days. Yes, I'm counting.
Meanwhile, remember I dropped my dash off? I've got a few update pictures from Wayde.
I got this picture a week or so ago, it is the very solid start of the bezel being rebuilt.
Vents have been re-added to the factory spot, radio has been moved up and gauges have been moved from the a-pillar (thank fuck) to where the radio used to be. Should be ready for primer tomorrow and I will have a new update picture then.
As for my fucking destroyed dash pad, well it is well on it's way to it's previous showroom finish.
A few 'befores' just so you know how bad it really was:
And how it currently sits:
I never ever thought it would look even half that good again. That is the stock vinyl and was actually shipped from GM in Detroit for me.
Fuel cell and bracketry should be here Friday. Oh yeah, did I mention I'm putting in a cell?

I'll see myself out.
Originally posted by Bigdogstokes View PostMaybe its just me then, cause I love the work that's been done. It really makes it your own when you have this much time into a car. And the fact that it's a cavalier just makes it all the better because it throws people off so bad lol I love them though so it's just amazing to me.

So, slacking fellas! Sorry. Few little updates.
Ordered new lower rad mounts. Cheapest thing I've bought for the car in a long time. A whopping $14.00.
Finished my brake and gas pedal assembly bracket. I learned that welding upside down under a dash while laying on the floor is harder than it sounds. Please also excuse the shit pictures.
Notched my column bracket for the booster rod, again... this was hard as hell and could have definitely wound up cleaner. However, it works and will be hidden under the dash. Phew.
At the same time you'll see the pivot is back for the bell-crank. I need to build the top bracket for it but I want to verify that my travel will be sufficient before I make it a final thing.
I also ordered three spherical ball pivots (I can't think of the not retarded name for them at the time... brain has turned to mush). They should be here near the end of the week and thusly I can finish my brake setup.
Also, got bored... half-ass primered my bay.. it might actually look decent when body-worked.
K, think that's it?
I need to start hauling ass on this thing. May 25th is coming way too fucking fast.
