Christine's 280Z out of Chicago... we'll be bringing her engine bay up to speed to match the rest of this perfect ride. Starting with the intake manifold, cut down to size, a little bit of shaving, cleaning, and port work.

All casting finishes, imperfections, and the wicked protrusions of the factory runners are long gone.

More to come... now it's a real Z party thread:-)
Please tell me you're doing ITB's! I want to do the same on my S130. I guess I gotta stay posted.

i keep trying to like the vintage fender mirrors, but i cant. i try harder, and still cant. then i see someone put them on a miata or something else from the 90's, and i want to shove rusty sewer pipe into my eyeballs. also, i like to think up scenarios where the driver is yelling at his wife/friend to adjust the mirror as he sits in the driver seat and they move the mirror in every possibly incorrect angle.

really hoping you dont put any on your z.

I don't know if you ever heard/seen the Japanese anime show called Wangan Midnight, but you remind me of the main character. Your guy's passion for the Z is pretty much the same, of course your's is higher but still lol . BTW I pmed you

Gotcha... I can see where the suspension would hold it all together, and if no suspension is there, the weight is probably not enough to do any damage.

You are going this far, why not get some air jacks?

No sir, the coilovers keep the wheels/A-arms from sagging.. they stay up nice and tight. Example... here is a shot of the Forester at its old ride height, and up on the lift. The tire may hang an inch, but no more than that. When chaniging tires, I only need to pump the jack handle a couple times to get a tire off the ground. The Z will have maybe half the travel.

But aren't you afraid that the lower arms are going to hit the chassis the way they're mounted now? You'll only have like an inch of downwards movement from the lower arms
As they're mounted, both front and rear tires have just over 4" of downward travel before the A-arms come in contact with the lower frame rail. As I'll have around 1" of total suspension travel (+/- .50" up or down...my Forester has just over 1" at its hardest setting) I'll be more than safe. The car itself will be resting on the pavement long before the A-arms will see the frame:-)
