sounds good, i went down with a couple of the guys i share the shop with to drop the motor and ran into a problem. i got everything off and ready but the speedo cable which according to the manual i need a special tool to get it out. gonna do some reading and see what i can come up with.
You sure it doesnt just screw out? Do you know what gearbox you have? 4 or 5 speed, getrag 240 or opel R25 box perhaps?
thank yew for the pics <3 I'm so in love with this thing...

i know for a fact you chubby bitches could suck the air bubbles out of a brake line
If its a getrag 5 speed, the speedo cable should just be screwed in by hand You might need pliers to loosen it first, but after its loosened, it should be possible to do the rest by hand. I`ll see if i can take a pic of one of my spare `boxes

THANKS, i'll go down this weekend sometime and try that out
thanks for the kind words everyone, i can't tell you all how much it means to me!
hopefully i'm picking up a new daily tomorrow that i'll want to keep for more than a year. it is also going to be my first non-euro car in 3 years, a 98 prelude with under 70k on the clock
So after i got my the Opel I decided i wanted to change up the daily. i had been driving that white e36 with the art wheels but it was becoming a PITA and i wanted to ditch it so i sold it. I then traded the wheels for a non-running Audi 90 10v Quattro 5 Speed. After working on it for a while it became clear that he car wasn't worth my time so i traded it for a running e30 325e Auto. I had planned on just driving the thing for the winter and then getting rid of it in the spring for another Lexus sc400 since i miss my old one soooooo much.
Funny how things change...
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving I am went out to dinner with my brother who was in town, my father and my father's girlfriend. We were talking about what my dad's girlfriend to replace her Prius when she said she had a prelude stashed away. I said, "you have a prelude?" and she said, "Yeah, do you want it?" I said hell yeah i did. She didn't think i was serious but my dad told her that when i say I'll buy a car i mean it. She told me to come take a look at it so today i went out to pick it up.
So here she is!
1998 Prelude Base 5 Speed w/ drumroll please.......... 72K on the clock!
has a bunch of small issues and is a bit beat up for the miles but all the key points are good. don't really think i am going to do much to it until the Opel is sorted but I'm just happy to be in a newer car again, it has been quite a while since i have had anything with OBD2 hehe
love the opel. beware of the auto tranny on the prelude if it has one. my brother replaced his 3 times in 2 years. he should have done a swap but he doesnt listen to his older brother. anywho cant wait to see updates.
