It's all good. It's mostly cone marks that wipe off. I spent a few hours yesterday cleaning her up and putting on the Gottis, so she looks okay again. There's a few marks and dents that didn't buff out, but I don't mind. Just reminders of good times!

Haha thanks! If you like her now, you should be very pleased with what I plan on doing the rest of the year.

        • This is really cool.

Drifting looks like way too much fun.

Hush your mouth! That smoke is the product of all-season tires dying at the hand of 160 wild horsepowers!

                  • I haven't made much progress on the swap other than parts collecting, which I've been told is the most important part of car building (next to posting pics on the internet).

A guy in Illinois was parting his recently 5.0 swapped e36 sedan, so, in an effort to save huge amounts of time and effort on this build, I bought all his swap parts. This is most everything I need to get the 5.0 into my vert. I still have to figure out a radiator and oil setup on my own, but that's nothing compared to things like wiring and exhaust.

Here's the e36v8.com motor mounts, poly e36 mounts, trans crossmember, trans mount, and the piece in the corner is a u-joint/bracket that adapts the Ford driveshaft to fit e36 rear.

These are BBK shorty headers and the completely custom downpipe. The headers get mounted backwards and this downpipe brings them together in front of the motor and routes the exhaust in the stock e36 location. This is a HUGE time saver!

This is the rest of the custom 3" exhaust. Obviously not much in the way of mufflers, so I'll probably add a long resonator and larger muffler eventually.

These parts convert the cable operated clutch on the T5 Ford trans to hydraulic. Pretty stoked on this setup! Its a CNC slave cylinder (same company as my handbrake), a nice custom bracket, and a braided line that will hook up to my existing e36 clutch line.

And finally, the biggest time saver of all: complete 5.0 wiring harness adapted to e36. This should literally plug-and-play the 5.0 to my car. I'm sure there's a crazy amount of time and research in this harness. This also came with the matching 1994 5.0 ECU, which has some advantages over my '86 unit and will easily allow me to convert to MAF (easier tuning) over speed density setup.

That's all for now...hopefully I'll be killing the Pony this weekend and have some updates then.

                              • Nice!!! Turbo the 5.0 for the best of both worlds

Make sure that x20 plug is the same as yours, as they are different between models and years and you're good to go!
