The obligatory " ground clearence" photo:

Bit of good news is that our driveway has now been refurbed so I can get the car back on the hardstanding outside my flat and starting working Her again, with some more lowness on the front, new 4" tailpipe sniper exhaust backbox, a boot hatch delock bung plug which Im going to machine and have painted along with removing and blanking off the rear washer jet and aerial... then it might be ready for some photshoots....

So here is my idea for delocking the boot. I punched out some 36mm blanks in 2mm mild steel and concaved it on the rear to fit into the hole left by the lock, then it will have a nut welded/epoxied onto the back of it it so the blank can be bolted on from inside the boot, its going to be painted red so from a certain distance the boot will appear smooth and saves messing with filler & rattlecans!

For real and if I had the dosh I would love a white paintjob, these cars look lush in white!

Ok a little bit more shaping of the blank this morning
          then I had a M10 x 40mm allen head bolt welded on.
Luckily found some quick drying enamel paint at work
which turned out to be nigh on a perfect match.

...and the work goes on! , this is the original set up I had before flipping the mount, the rears are the pretty much the same with all collars together,

Now heres the flipped mount! This was insanely low!

so this is what we settled for....

Ok not a huge update for now as I'm laid up for a couple of weeks after a back op.
But I have sorted out loads of little body bungs that are currently @ the painters
to flush the aeriel, boot and bonnet washer jets ( bonnet washer jets to be relocated to the wiper cowling)

..and a little bit of virtual modding with these side skirts
I wanna fit along with some custom rear quarter wing tips.

These skrits looks great! Are they available somewhere or are you planning on fabricating them yourself?

Thanks they are the simplest ones I can find, so yes they are readily available, however the have a vent near the rear which will need flushing over.

I would like to fabricate a little piece like this maybe though from aluminium.

Will get them ordered in the next week or so and get them prepped for paint.
Also bagged these uber rare headlight protectors and completed a clear indicator mod.

by opening up the light and removing the orange flasher bucket, so now using a chrome
                      amber bulb.

In prep for deleting the washer jets on the bonnet i tried mounting them in the wiper cowling.
It didnt work so now ordered some wipers with jets in them, but did change over the wiper tubing to lime green silicon stuff and added a one way valve to keep water at the jets.

also just cracked out the yellow tyre pen for a bit of a motorsport/f1 look. I dig it just needs another coat.

whilst waiting for the wipers to arrive I changed up alot of spaghetti junction
for the same 4mm ID hose that I used for the washer jets... lucky that!

Also chnged out the green translucent top hose as it wasnt translucent anymore,
went too soft for my liking under heat and had split under the
hose clamp. Topped up with antifeeze also.

So went down the hardware shop this morning to bag some 3mm clear tube for the wiper arms.

Ran the clear lines down under the arms and into the scuttle panel to T into the main hose and attached the lines with zip ties.

And they work! really well five jets on each blade spray direct at the screen.

Plus you dont really notice the pipes under the arms if done in clear hose.

I would seriously recommend this mod. if you want delete the bonnet jets or your fitting a carbon bonnet etc..

Been raiding the breakers for some goodies to get painted>cam pulley wheels.
and chrome powder coated>fuel rail+various brackets.

Picked me up the V6 strut brace also

changed the green hose for pink as I wasnt happy with the way the green was contasting
so close to the rocker cover.

fitted up a Trust duracon shift knob

Back at work this week, so started on the alu. windscreen washer tank to match the power steering fluid tank. Also looking at welding on a bash guard to the 323
baffled sump in prep for the turbo and meaning I can drop the ride height some more
Side skirts on order, but taken forever to arrive!

loving all the little details on this. MX-3's are great cars and such a momentous flop when new; some thing which i just can't figure out.

                                keep my eye on this.
