Decided to go back to my original plan of using black OE looking silicon hoses with just some nice polished pieces in the engine bay, all had to come out anyways as my rad sprung a leak on the exp. joint up top which I drilled out and epoxied in a more substantial hose tail.100% leak free now
Done a load of boring service crap too like new fuel filter and O2 sensor to get her running sweet as a nut before boostage, still need to do cambelt/water pump though.
Also now running the alu. washer bottle.alu PAS res. still needs some work internally me feels and fitted up a SH stock bumper I got for cheaps that had a recent paint job.
oh btw having difficulties tracking down camber plates so my next plan is to slot the hub a bit, have got some serrated flange nuts coming hoping it will work.
Did a bit more lowering yesterday! @ -125mm the bottom of the coilover body gets awfully close to the CV boot and I ground out getting out the drive!
It did look frickin amazing though...
So jacked it up to -110mm in the front, ground off those two tow hooks underneath and cut back some of the plastic guards.
I Wont take anymore pictures of the whole car though till I get my new camera for my birthdays in a few weeks :P
Archenemy booked for this sunday now as my usual matey was out the country till end of may and I wanted it sorted for Japfest on the 12th of May so one of there agents is having a 250 mile round trip just to roll and flare one arch! Aswell as His long journey down it looks like we might be in for some 60mph winds & rain on Sunday, us living very close to the sea it could get quite extreme!
Old wing off was pretty easy really, managed it on my own
Replacement wing on.
whilst the car was up performed and Oil and filter change which should of been done a while ago judging by what came out...
Well tbh it could be a while if I want some 3pc wheels, which I really do... I look everyday for second hand sets and have pchopped many a wheel on there. Im pretty much sold on someting with a gold centre, its just the car really could do with a lick of red paint first as its fading badly in places and if I wanna fit the Turbo I got to purchase the clutch aswell..
... The wife and I are looking to upscale from a flat to a house with a garage next year though so I might have to pilfer some equity in the process
Ok so the inevitable happened and I cracked the oil pan, I was just about to fit a guard aswell!
and had just done an oil change.. Luckily I managed to catch it weeping so caught all the fresh oil I just put in. Found a replacement off ebay someone was breaking a 1600 luckily.
here is the new sumpe with guard and bunged off oil return for turbo at a later date,
On a side note I have finally found some wheels you don't often see on many a miata
and fully intend to purchase once I have saved the dosh> probably 16x9's
favourites so far are the BB4 but Im going to chop a few on there to see whats best
Cast and Heat Treated Three Piece Cast Alloy Wheels. Alloy wheel centres are cast and heat treated with prime alloy flow formed rims. Custom Made in England
car is pretty cool, nice work. Most of these i see here in Australia are badged as 'Eunos 30X' and are the V6 ones. but pretty rare, as you say they didnt go well!
I was considering Image Wheels myself but if you do some Google searching they have a poor reputation from what i see. Some hit and miss build quality and weak barrels put me off. There is a guy with an E30 running some nice Image's, but they are the Billet not the Cast. However maybe as you are in the UK it won't such an issue if you need to get warranty or whatever?
Also this is bugging me cause i am in marketing and proof read a lot of things- your signature with Napolean Dynamite is missing a word :P
Alright cheers for the double heads up Bro, I was waiting for someone to notice the sig, cause I knew it wasn't right :P want to work on a new one anyhow...
Managed to get outside dodging the rain to change over the sump today.
Damage to old one.
cleaned both mating surfaces with TF-90 a chisel and some brilo pads, used RTV sealent (no gaskets needed)
New one on.
Got to wait 24hrs now for the RTV to fully cure then check for leaks!
I have my new camera now (Fujifilm Finepix HS20 EXR) and have found some really good locations to shoot, waiting on a tripod and some sun, or atleast not grey skies!)
The wife's gone out I got bored so decided to lay down my pinstripe design down with masking tape. let me know what you think, I knows it not very straight, lol > probably try it for real in 3mm gold tape.
Also working on a single wiper conversion> could be another first in the '3 community!
The wife and her trusted sewing machine help me make this new shift boot, from a GTA San Andreas bandana I had been saving for something special > and here it is
Soz for bumping with another update but this happened yesterday! So who's old enough to remember when these were all the rage?!
Have started work on a hack job single wiper conversion, this is a spare motor arm I got today and by extending it 10mm I'm hoping to get more sweep on the middle wiper. Not quite sure its going to work yet, will get this welded up and have a play at some point.
Made one of these before for my 205 but a slightly different method, failed the MOT once with it before as it used to park up the middle, wont do that again, lol
EDIT> Got our welder on this this morning, if only He spoke English He wouldnt of welded it on the wrong way round so I had to cut it again and turn it round and get him to do it again, lol It frikin works though! fitted it up in the gale we are having down here this afternoon shitting myself the bonnet was going to blow down on my fingers! No guts no glory as they say
