Just a suggestion dump the quadra jet and get another carb.

The headers, steering shaft clearance, and getting a driveshaft made were the hardest aspects.

Using the Bmw power steering pump was very easy, we fabbed up the brackets and had it mounted in a few hours.

One thing we forgot to do was write down mount dimensions and placement. I won't be able to come up with accurate numbers until the engine is out again.

My fuel setup is very simple.... Replaced the BMW pump with a hard line down into the tank. Factory line to low pressure electric pump mounted under the car where the factory fuel filter was. Then into a holley pressure regulator and into the carb. I left the factory vent there just cut it around where it comes up at the firewall. There is no return flow so the return lines can be eliminated.

Ive still got a handful of cosmetics to take care of but I've been driving the car around locally to work the bugs out. It's a lot of fun with the LSD rear!

I need an alignment, some exhaust rattles fixed, and a balanced driveshaft and I should be good to go.

I got about 65 miles to $40 in gas... I think I'll be driving this thing once or twice a week at most until I strike it rich, my commute is about 40 miles.

I was just excited that it was running decent so I threw the hood on and took a spin around town. The fuel door, quarters, hood and side skirts need paint before its presentable.

But yes, it does drink gas and at almost $4 a gallon here I doubt I'll be able to afford driving it nearly as much as I'd like to.

Is there no fuelcap because you have to refuel it after each ride? :P lol

I've been learning a lot about carburetors. I had some serious tuning issues but finally go to drive the car around locally this weekend.

Notice the hood has no hole

My brother making some adjustments, and my daughter insisting he hold her while he does it:

And here's some various shots since my last update:

Life is busy... but some brake work, some final checks and assembly and a day of paint work and I should be ready to go!
