yep, full respray is no where in my future. Unless you saw the car in real life, you would not know the little details that can never be replicated about the paint, and thus the reason why it likely will stay like this till it actually needs it (likely when im in my 40s. haha).

the rear might be getting some work done to it anyway as the camber needs to go, i just need to plan it out, and make sure it doesnt force entire panels to be painted.

Have you considered over fenders as a bit of a throw-back to the original Z?

When your car retains 90% of the original 22 yr old finish that is in very good shape would you do an unnecessary full respray? It's a waste of money repainting something that doesn't need to be. It just makes the car that much more OE, patina is a good thing.

Axed the widebody project. I did all of the planning, all of the prep work, test fitted the new shaped metal before planning to make the cuts, and I dont like the way it flows with the car... so back to the drawing board...
might just pull the fenders with some relief cuts, weld in and then blend a small area of the paint so the paintwork isnt that extensive. I was worried I would have to redo all of the paint with the widebody anyway, so its better that thats not really the case

pictures will be up soon. I will test fit the panel again once more just in case, but it looks like a no go. When I make a decision it usually sticks

with the way you do things I will totally call you out for half assing your car if you tried a widebody without doing a full respray.

On the DD comment, I do need a DD very soon though, as the jeep is killing me... My brother just bought a new CC, so its now down to a volvo c30 R design, or a lexus is250 both stick. Likely going the designer route and getting the minimalist c30, but i really **** fwd...

The C30 is gorgeous. Focus ST is something you could consider too, not as pretty, but dat 250 bhp >_>

alright, so the work didnt stop, but the camera situation was down for a few days.

sold my canon xti last week so i could add some better toys to the list of equipment.

picked up a canon 60d, 18-55is, and 50mm 1.4 to add to my current setup. was going to sell the canon 10-22, but i like the lens a lot with the new camera body, so its going to stay in the collection

heres a pic of some of the pieces of the collection taken with the iphone
once i get a suitable sd card for the camera, the pictures of this winters build will commence.


as for work on the z, i welded all the holes shut in the battery tray area, the pass through to the fender shut, undercoated the entire wheel well after it was all done. i took off the front fenders, rear fascia, and front bumper. its almost ready for some paint and will be going the day after christmas.

yeah, the clearances are tight on purpose with regard to everything. Pretty much attempted perfection in terms of tolerances. Front end still needs to come down a little more (1/2" or so) haha. But as for the past few months, ive been absolutely able to beat on the car all day long and all is perfect. Combination of my ever changing driving style, and finally getting everything worked out on the car to a high level. Almost everything works as it should, just a few minor changes here and there, but Im pretty happy overall.
Its finally able to be beaten on... everyone that sits in the passenger seat lately has said the same thing. "wow im shocked you can drive this like that" And "you almost could daily this car"

That is beyond huge, and makes it all worth the thousands of hours.

Yeah I'm not really a baller, nor do I want to be. But I have an addiction to rare wheels and it's SW so it's a common thing we all need help with. We need a BWA (baller wheels anonymous) or something

More like Baller Wheels Association. : Love the shot must be scary af to drive around with a clearance like that but you know what you're doing so I'm not worried :thumbup:

ok so i just went through all this and really felt the urge to say something and congratulate you on this awesome build, amazing detail.. only thing i wasnt a fan of was the baller pics of the wheels everywhere but if you have it flaut it and i dont so im jealous lmao. Nice one bud and keep yo shit up!
