  • Love those seats, I'd kill for a set for my 996.

I think the only thing I'd change about them is the silver seatbelt guides at the top since nothing else on your car is silver. Personally I'd do them black or maybe the same white as the wheels.

    • haha you and I are right on track with the ideas.. I spent a few minutes before work this morning photoshopping the guides in both black and white. not sure yet what i plan on doing for them as both look interesting. Likely they will just be a shade of satin black, to better blend in with the interior.

cant leave anything alone, this is the perfect example of that

      • I thought I was going to be the only one to say that they look odd, you should also remove the rear seats since there is no way anyone can sit there with those buckets. just my 2 cents

        • the rear seat has never served much of a purpose, but in the case of these seats vs the stock seats, these new seats take up a whole bunch less room, so if i had a friend who was say 4' tall, he/she could technically fit now unlike before. haha

oh and the belt guides are coming off and getting shot in satin black. plan in action.

          another shot from last night...

those curves match the car perfectly. im happy

          • Sometimes you see a car and like what the person has done to it. Sometimes you see a car and just want to own it. This is the latter.

                          • this weekends plan. partying and conquering seats. sold the stock seats i had rewrapped to a local z guy, and started on the game plan for this project. since a seats out of a porsche carrera GT/ 997 GT3 doesnt bolt right up to a fairlady Z, it took a little planning and some fab work. wanted the install to look like factory, and use all factory mounting points. took measurements, made a few templates, got some 3/16" steel, sat at the drill press and the metal brake, test fit. then off for some satin black powdercoat.

luckily my powdercoater was in on saturday, so he finished a set of RS for me, and also the brackets. then came the fun part. getting these seats in the car permanently.

quick phone pic of the brackets i fabbed (these things are serious, 3/16 steel is quite beefy, and a lot more then what was on the gt3 or my car for that matter.

about 6 hours of wrenching, adjusting, making some changes, and.... here they are all bolted up and ready for some driving

oh and alright, so i dont leave anything alone as you can tell. pulled apart the seats while the brackets were at powder, removed the belt guides, shot them with the gun filled with some satin black. now im happy.

another project complete! Oh and i also finished up the front lip and its 100% done and installed. getting close to being done for this season
