I **** that damn song, I hope everyone downloads it for free so that he doesn't get paid for that junk.
ANYWAYS!
First off let me say this, I'm not one to stop my work and wash my hands to take pictures much, but I have a few to start this off and I hope to take more pictures as I finish up my dirty tear down and start my clean and pretty rebuild.
I have a 1987 Chrysler Conquest. I am almost 17, and this is my second car. I previously owned a 1980 jeep CJ7 Renegade that I bought at 12 and sold at 15. I kinda miss it actually, but I would never sell my quest for another.
I have been doing maintenance work on the car since I bought it last march, and I finally got to the point where I was safe to buy and install my AEM EUGO wideband and AEM Truboost EBC just about 3 days before I had to put her away for the winter
Didn't get to have too much fun though, because my open exhaust was causing much boost creep on me, so when I finish my suspension project I have to pull the turbo and port it, specifically the wastegate to get that little sucker flowing again.
here is a list of my mods:
-89' ECU
-Cosmo Racing intake
-1G MAS
-3" intake pipe
-no name hard pipes
-RFL BOV
-lower shores 650/950 injectors
-turbo back open 2.5" exhaust
-AEM Truboost
-AEM UEGO wideband
-Competition clutch stage 4 six puck ceramic clutch and 15lb steel flywheel
-14g turbo @ uncontrollable psi (boost creep, currently being taken care of)
-front 7" wide front, 9" SHP rear wheels, with 225/50 and 245/50 toyo proxes4 tires.
Inbound: D2 coilovers, 9" SHP all the way around, MK1 sway bars, poly sway links, poly suspension bushings, powdercoated suspension
Now for the good stuff. I am currently stripping the whole suspension out for new Poly bushings, upgraded sway bars, D2 racing coilovers (I know they aren't the bee's knees around this part of town, but back in the starquest neighborhood, its the hottest thing since these cars left the factory. before these, the best we had were MR2 KYB inserts in shortened stock housings), new diff and torque tube mounts, sandblasting everything, and powdercoating everything. It's all getting a candy purple powdercoat. I have not decided what I'm doing about the diff and torque tube though. I don't wanna deal with stripping that stuff down for blasting and coating, I'll see what the shop can do about keeping it assembled. I will most likely be stuck hand sanding them clean and doing a real nice white paint job on them, but only time will tell.
Picture time!
before she was put away
sunkennnnnnn

4x4

Now... Here is some good ol disassembly...of 23 years worth of corrosion. It has taken weeks of periodical work to get all this damn rusty shit out. Dropping the rear end was a beautiful 6 nuts, but getting it down piece to piece is a challenge.

and the front end all nice and empty

I am getting down to the last main bolts for the A arms out back. I have to cut them out because every single metal inner bushing sleeve has seized to the damn bolts, which is preventing them from coming out because, well, the sleeves are bigger than the holes.
From there, its refinishing time, and reassembly time
Does anyone know if the diff and torque tube assembly can be sandblasted/powdercoated without disassembly? I was thinking to keep the axles in to keep it sealed shut, and then I don't have to worry about taking that junk apart, because frankly I don't want to deal with all the spacers and clutches and shit.
so, I will be updating here soon. hope you guys like
thanks,
-Justin
