So abit of a good update, went to the unit intending to just have a chilled day scrapping the sticky sound deadening residue off but instead we done this.

Yep shes out, unfortunatly a fail on my part in all the excitement i forgot to drain the gearbox so as we pulled it out the oil cascaded out.

But enough of that, its out and im happy, the next stage is painting the bay.

I also had a rethink in engine and thought why would i spend 1.1k on throttle bodies when i could spend that on a decent 1jzgte with much better gains.

So im selling things up and putting all the sale money and more besides towards the OTHER new engine!

I pulled the 7m ge from her but yeh i bought a 2j ge for her, main reason was i got offered it for a very cheap price with great miles and all ancillieries, i intended to single turbo it but upon researching it i found it wasnt worth spending all that money on a ge when i could buy a stock gte for the same money, both engines are just sat in the unit now as im building my funds up for a 1jz. Nearly there.

Cheers bud, yeh she is rather mint apart from that one section i cut out so im very pleased, yeh the bay will be painted in the next 2 weeks, the only reason ive skimped with updates is because ive been busy with the other car and until this point havent had a decent workshop to work on her in!

Cheers its a mates, its being completly stripped down this winter. Like to the bone.

I got these pictures once i got back from work as it sat on my street looking quite mean.

Yeh theyre speed bumps behind it on my hill, many plained down a little now as ive been rolling up them quite abit.

I also finally decided what kind of engine im actually going to work on, im gonna buy a 2jz N/A when i have some spare cash and convert it to a single turbo.
Ive seen a couple of people do it and with a few simple (and sensible) mods they're averaging 380 - 400bhp.

Also the main reason is a N/A is alot cheaper then scouring for a 1jz gte so lets see if the plan pays off.

I have to have to have to tell you, so much, that ... The work you have put into your supra is a beautiful outcome! CAn you please, please offer me the color code, or paint brand THAT YOU used on your mk3 supra please?

I Absolutely like what you have done to your baby! Also what Coil overs do you have and what is the preferred deep dish width size that I should Get?? I really want to paint mine like yours REALLY bad! did you sand the car down first? Did you paint underneath the trim or remove the glass? Thank you so much and I love your supra dude :-)

Well a fair few bits have happened recently, sold some bits bought a engine, nearly got scammed out of £800 for said engine, caught the scammer, found a new engine, a better engine and all is well.

I opted against the 2jzge on throttle bodies as with the money i would be spending on ITB's i might as well buy a 1JZGTE, so i did, the first deal was for a whole car, a soarer, but come deal day someone set the barn on fire it was kept in, so no soarer, luckily i hadnt parted with any money.

The the second deal was for a low milage 1JZGTE with all ancilleries for a fairly high price, the only reason i chose this over cheaper ones was the miles, then i found out the miles were false and were infact over 100,000miles over the stated milage, so i pulled out.

The 3rd deal was for the same conditions, 1JZGTE with all ancilleries and everything that came out of the soarer engine bay as he wanted it gone with low miles (proven) for a cheaper price, deal done.

I already have the R154 gearbox and 1jz bellhousingso the only thing left to mate it is a clutch and flywheel and to swap around the push/pull clutch style.

While waiting around for bits i bought some reclining recaros for a cheap price.

And i manned up and got rid of the red on the inside.

All primed and masked, now onto the colour choice.

A vauxhall antique gold, i love it, the bay is also in primer waiting for the paint to turn up.

The things holding the project back are parts and information, im waiting for my driftworks flywheel, clutch and paint so until they arrive theres little i can do.

Waiting for parts has to be the bane of my life.

I bought a manual lightweight flywheel which took forever to arrive, but when it did i was happy.

I also had ot order a clutch kit, and JZA70 engine brackets and rubber engine mounts, most had to come from ajapn so took 2 weeks.

I also didnt intend on it as i just wanted it in but sharing a unit with others i heard enough moaning about leaving my bay red so painted it the same as the interior, unfortunatly the paint ALSO took 2 weeks to arrive as the seller was on holiday.

Well everything was ready to go in, so i thought, all i had to do was remove the loom ready for splicing, unfortunatly toyota had attached the loom to the inside curv of the intake manifold, so to get it out i had to remove the inlet manifold and fuel rail, numerous plugs and little wites etc etc.

                          Loom out.

Then i wanted the engine in to see how it sat, only problem was the crane we had couldnt take the weight of the engine and box so the engine went in alone.

Wasnt bad for a afternoons work, i intended to attach the box and clutch etc up the next day but i made a mistake going to some appauling cruise in essex that rinsed my petrol and budget for the week so i have to wait till next weekend until thats done.

Next on the list is to install the r154 with clutch assembly, then assess the prop situation and send the loom away, while thats away start hooking things up.

                                Cheers for the comments guys!

Works been abit slow as ive just got placement to be trained a mechanical engineer so ive been more focused on that but its slowly getting there.

Fitted the gearbox, had to have some friends help me with assembling the clutch as its a different system to the W58 box that i was using.

The reason its held up by a jack is because my friend broke EVERY bolt off in the V shaped mount so i had to drill them and re tap them, its all in and braced now.

Then i had to find a R154 prop as the 58 would not fit.

Bought and installed, extremely easy i must say.

I also hooked up the R154 slave cylinder and the speedo cable.

I then installed the JZA70 rear light clusters and plate recess, had to install a cable boot release though as the lock on the MA70 chassis would not line up with the hole on the JZA70 lights and i didnt want to start chopping unnessisary holes in my car.

                                Works a treat.

I also finished fabricating the runners for the recaros.

At that point things started to be re installed to the interior, center console, seats, harness's...actually thats about it of the interior.

I also bought a ally radiator as i threw my old standard one away as the core was 1/3 rotten away, i got a soarer one sent through with my 1jz but it was to big, and finding a JZA70 radiator was costly so to be honest this worked out cheaper.

I installed it and ran into 2 proplems, its huge, i mean proper beefy, and its high, i chopped the standard rubber mount down by 1cm but that made little difference, so i made come other ones out of blanking rubbers i had laying about, it dropped down lower then this but im not sure if the filler will clear the bonnet so i have to test that out.

As i say it sits about 1 - 2cm lower then this now but im not sure if thats enough, the only other thing i can do is cut the standard mounts off the bottom and weld new ones on lower, but that means the rad will hang lower to the ground, and we all know thats a dissaster waiting.

Please excuse the ghetto cable tie bracing, im fabricating some new mounts up at work this week as the standard ones are curved.

And this is the list so far.

More things have been crossed off it now, basically the whole top half is gone but more things keep getting added too it.

Next on the list is a custom power steering hose and a JZA80 throttle cable.
