I ended up robbing the line i had off the 2jz ive still got, fits perfectly.

Well the vac pipes and fuel lines are now all connected, turned out the vac lines were for the evap system and charcol cannister and were not needed.

The little dampener turned out not to be needed either so that saved some time too.

The FMIC is all hooked up with custom brackets top and bottom, most coolent lines are also all plummed in.

Custom brackets for ally rad and top mounts for FMIC made at work.

The positioning of the FMIC was pretty damn good on behalf of toyota, ive seen mates have to chop their cars to pieces to mount one but because these supras came with a front mount as standard pieces were removable.

I also set about hooking up the new throttle cable, i asked toyota for one for a JZA70 and they wanted way to much in my eyes so i asked about, someone said the cable had no 'special' ends so i could make a universal one fit. They were lieing. I can make it but its got a end on it i was not expecting, where the cable connects to the pedal there is a flat button type end, this in my eyes is a 'special' end.

So the old one will have to be chopped and soldered onto the new cable, also i need advice, how does the cable connect to the throttle body?
I was looking at this today and it looks as though the thottle has 2 cable housings.

If someone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!

The only sizable thing im waiting for now is the loom.

      Then i can test it.

          Cheers dude, the feelings mutual!

          It's so very close now.

So for the past few weeks i've been waiting for the electical guys to come down and sort it out, everything else is sorted, oils in, coolents in, power steerings sorted, gearbox is sorted and everythings braced and bolted like it should be.

So the guys from mb automotive came down and started work on it, most electrics now work and it turns over but we ran out of time before the full engine wiring was sorted so hes got to come back and put the finishing touches to it.

In the mean time i need to re locate the battery to the rear, extend the alternator live and finish bolting up the inlet manifold as it had to be removed again for the loom to be threaded through!

Well ive had a very productive week in the unit, the main thing is it starts and runs lovely!

It sounds like a spitfire as it has no exhaust from from the manifold back!
But before it started it decided to strip some of the gold paint in the bay by spraying precious fuel everywhere!

We didnt leave until 4am so i was more tired then happy, but at least she has life after so many months of hard work!

I still need to get senders for the rev gauge and temp gauge as they dont read correctly if at all!

It also got fairly hot fairly quickly but that was mainly to do with the constant reving and having no viscous or fan of any kind, unfortunatly this is the space i had to work with.

so the first thing to do was either replace a viscous, install electric fans or make a custom set up at work for a slimmer fan!

These are the choices i had, 7m, 1j, or 2j.

the 1j and the 7m had no chance as the rad was alto thicker then stock, but the 2j fitted very well, it was alot slimmer, i have no idea why but it was still a little to large so i had to trim the blades down a tiny bit to avoid the top of the rad.

All done, for the time being, but depending if the engine moves forward while running i might have to re think the design.

I also started removing cruise control pieces after years of being obsolete.

Well last thing to do it make up the throttle cable and i can test run it this weekend!

            Stoked.

But in this time ive just been getting deals as and when i can, got a HKS turbo timer and harness the other day and a HKS FCD on the way too!

              The time came.

I took her for a test run, after days of my friends constant ear bashing, i finally gave in and instead of doing jobs i was ment to do for mot prep i took her off the stands and went for a blast.

Getting her off the stands was a chore, i broke my friends (not-so) low entry jack, and she nearly fell on my hand when the stand started rocking.

She had no exhaust at all, not even a downpipe (yeh i know not good for car, no back pressure etc) but she was fine, no, fines a understatement she was extravigant.

I forgot completly how low she sat until she went down and realised she would never get raised again, ever.

I have got a video i took on the gopro, but its about 10 minutes long as i forgot to turn it off as i was having so much fun, im trying to cut it down in a video editer thing but i suck at it and lost my rag.

in other news though i ordered a downpipe from japspeed for a JZA70 supra, they said it would fit staright off, they were lying.

That bend is what i had to fabricate in, the flange also had to be removed and re welded in a different position, only then would it fit without catching on anything, but being as that had to be modified, now the rest of the exhaust does too so the center section has to be extended by 32cm.

              This is the finshed downpipe.

Im aiming to get it on the road in a week, so i started installing gauges too.

Boost is all in and working, ive also got a temp gauge and sender that needs to be fitted this weekend.

I also have these rev gauges, i wanted to fit the bride one as it just looks abit better, but it didnt come with the plug so it would require abit of work to make it function so the chrome one might have to do.

I also picked up a set of sterns splits for drift rims, gonna take them apart and re paint them all but they're not to bad for the price i paid, and near enough the same size and offset as the veilsides.

Ill update this once the video finally uploads.

              Peace.

                  Cheers man its much appreciated
Yeh it was awesome, the camera decided to fall off the car but having abit of a blast around the corners was immense.

                  Ill post if ASAP!

Well i finally got the video of the first run up on youtube, it took hours.
Appologies for it being abit long, the camera falling off and my driving but i had sooo much fun.

Well the last things to get sorted was mainly the exhaust, i fitted the downpipe and found that with the modifications done to it the centre section wasnt long enough to meet it so i had to cut the flange off the end and weld in a 32cm sleeve so it met and kept the original length of the exhaust.

It fits in place but the rubber mount was sheered so i had to get one today before i can perminantly fix it.

BUT in other news im sure everyone knows you cant have something nice without someone else fucking it up, well i went to my unit the other day only to find the unit flooded, every inch of the floor was wet and it looked like(a great deal of) water had fallen into my engine bay, it was dripping out the bottom with no signs of leaks anywhere, also paint on the wing had risen which suggested water from above.

At first i thought there was a hole in the roof of the unit but no leak of even signs of damp, then i looked around everyone elses car and only mine was visably wet, also things next to the car (rave subs from the bloke next to me) were bone dry and they were only a foot away.

Anyway long story short i pulled the coil packs and plugs and they were dry, but when i started it up it ran like crap, so i topped up the fuel and ran it again and it ran better but still not as sweet, the plugs were slightly charcoly so i ordered some new ones today.

But basically it seems someone threw a mass amount of water over my engine bay.

                    Dont share units guys.

                          Cheers guys!

Well after the water incident i changed the plugs and fitted the bonnet so it couldnt happen again, then i wired in the new temp gauge and sender, it was'nt reading correctly and the engine got very hot quickly.

I thought a airlock was to blame so i opened the cap and turned the heaters on and let it get upto normal temperature, nothing changed. It was then that my mate suggest that the thermostat might have had it, so we removed various pipes and stuff to get the the thermostat and as he had suggest, it had had it, so we changed that.

I then had to decide what to do for a backbox, as i didnt want the huge mongoose system i had on it previously so i decided to make a shotgun.

Started off with 2 pieces of 2.5inch pipe, cut them with the grinder and them flattened them out on the lynicher.

Then i made sure they butted up correctly, excuse my tutor.

I then made 2 'wedges' to straighten the angle out, then i welded it all.

I then welded on the shotgun ends.

After that i welded on a metre of 2.5inch pipe so i could chop it down to size in the unit.
                          This was the end result.

And compared to the original backbox.

Once it was all fitted it sounded perfect, not stupidly loud and chavvy but nice when its under load, im still having issues with the downpipe though it the form of it hangs way to low, i cut it to fit up but now i cant raise it any higher, i think im just going to fabricate one from scratch after the mot on monday.

So i got it out of the unit for pre mot checks and found it wasnt running right, took it for a drive down the yard and under load it coughed/spit and missed like a bitch, so started to do all the usual checks, plugs, coils, TPS, wiring, timing etc only to find they were all fine.

It wasnt until a mate of mine said 'hold on whats this' and re attached a vaccum hose to the map sensor that it ran perfectly!

So its now all ready for the mot.

Its out, and tbh iv been enjoying the hell out of it!

Started ordering parts for it left right and centre, One of the first things i done were split the 2 9j sterns to refurb, i wanted 9j wheels all around and i thought these looked similar to the veilsides so they wouldn't stand apart to much.

I then got abit of a bargain on ebay and got a greddy spec 2 boost controller for fairly cheap.

Im still to wire this in though as i forgot it this weekend.

I then fitted my new sterns and they fill the arches quite nicely, i need a 10mm slip on spacer on both sides and it seems like ill be there, i also tried to roll the rear arches but the design on the inside means you have to flat out quite abit of the inner arch before you even reach the outer lip so i need to figure out a way to do that!

The front came down another 10mm each side but i have no pictures of that.

I also bought 2 14" electric fans as the viscous had to be trimmed quite dramatically to miss hitting anything, so i removed the viscous (big mistake) and fitted one of these.

After wiring that in i let it get upto temp to see if it worked ok, it did, but then yesterday the weather got alot hotter and so did the car, the one fan just didnt cut it, so this weekend ill be removing it to place on the front of the radiator and put the neatened up viscous back on, the other fan will be placed on the back of the intercooler.
