        Lol, thanks guys...

And yes Jared, you definitely get idea credit...
I was always planning on a roll bar of some sort (since I've already had the thing upside down once...) but that cage idea was brilliant

Well, I'm slowly getting this thing further away from back on the road...

I should be able to start building the roll bar now. I've got some major rot in the driver's floorboard that needs replaced... but no sheet-metal or money :/
Also, I swapped this dash in from a parts car when I was 16. It was a major PITA then and pulling it was just about as bad... I want to keep all of my factory gauges and controls, maybe convert all the ventilation controls to push pull knobs (I **** the sliders and mine are all busted lol...)

I like this but thought about fabbing something up myself... aluminum perhaps?

          Ideas?

Dude... You need to get rid of any paint around the areas that you arre welding... Atleast 25mm either side. Paint can cause porosity(sp?) in the welds which makes them much weaker. I know you ar planing on running a cage, but honestly, you should be aiming to do the job properly. If you dont have too much experience welding structural sections, I suggest you consult someone who has?

Not trying to put you down, just trying to get some education into it so that 40 other people dont go and try to build cars without the proper knowledge.

Also the passenger side looks a little low, are you planing on addressing that?

Judging by the photos you have put up it would appear that the passenger side top corner looks to be lower in height then the drivers side.... It may well be the photos, just looks off when you go by these three pics..

Ok I think I see what you're referring to now...
The hood doesn't sit square when its not latched, so it could be this or the combination of the fact the car isn't on level ground.

Both sides measure evenly from solid reference points in the unibody...

                            All good... wasnt sure...

I was going off the rad support and the top rails that the guards bolt up to, not the bonnet
