    YOU ARE A BEAST.

However, I disagree with that intercooler setup. Ruins the cleanliness of the bay and doesn't make sense with airflow. I know your intake mani is big but I'm sure you could fit an intercooler in the from grill like most mk1 people do.

ummm... the tank setup of that intercooler setup makes no sense.

please explain because i'm stumped on this.... is this some air-water setup that is shaped like flipped and over lapping "L" sort >>> L|7 where the main tanks are on the sides and the water has to flow up, around a 90* corner and into a very tight channel, down through the core into another tight channel around another sharp 90* corner and into the other side tank??? sorry for the poor representation but i'm sure you understand what i mean.

wont that cause an immense amount of restriction in the water flow and the effectiveness of the cooler in general?

i'd think more contoured channels that tapered down on the ends with larger tanks feeding them would be a much smarter design or is space really THAT limited?

    Cheers

    Superb build

You are going to build a airflow gate to the intercooler? If not, the temperature will be high after a short time.

    *subskribe thread*

on with the updates. the customer decided he was okay with going air to water intercooler with the space constraint issues we were going to run into. We would not have enough space to run a sufficient front mount intercooler and also radiator\ oil cooler at the same time

to build the intercooler we start with 14 gauge aluminum sheet metal

    Then a bare intercooler core

    end tanks welded on

just a quick shot of where the intercooler will be placed

must fight urge to post video.

if it wasn't for how the rear suspension is setup for the r32 it would be easier to modify the car for awd. I swapped a vr6 into my cabby , after driving in the snow I wish I had awd. after looking at the bmw e28 535 rear end I think I may the easiest solution for awd in the rabbit.
