  • Haha, yeah, I never really think about it because of my tint. I can't even see the iPod in there myself!

But it definitely sucks ass. People fucking suck... I could've lost my baby tonight. Damn...crazy.

    • Must've been very traumatic, you handled it in a very mature way though and how fortunate that they didn't get it.

I have two civics, one was stolen once and the other twice. recovered stripped everytime. after this last time i decided im done with them. moving to a less stolen car. btw, the steering column lock assy. where the key goes with my honda emoyee discount was still 255 dollars. bought 3 of them.

        • having to go thru the same experiance twice i know how that feels. after alot of trial and error with alarms and such this is kinda wat i came up with, viper alarm with two way pager. hood pin. back up battery for the alarm(get it) they can some times get thru the hood pin. and viper also sell an app that goes with your individual alarm. if your alarm goes off you phone will go off as well so no matter what u always know if some one is messing with your car. also a quick relase with a lock(nrg makes them) is always helpful. also the computer of the car take it out. it sounds like alot of work but trust me its worth it. thers alot more u can do to it so they dont take it. ived come out to see ppl with there arm inside my car and another looking out!!! once i got the alarm it didnt happen any more. i had three horns for the alarm. idk hope this helps.

          • Well i'll start by saying i love this car, the stance is spot on

that really sucks though, i can imagine how horrible that would have been, but at least you still have the car!

As for the alarms, i would get one! i got an alarm/immobiliser for my caddy soon after i put it on the road because i was worried about how easily it could be stolen, and im really glad i did. aside from the fact the immobiliser makes actually stealing it harder, nobody is going to go to that length to steal it in an open carpark with a loud ass alarm going at the same time! lol.

plus you can normally get remote central locking built in, which means no more keys in the lock

Yeah, it was one of those things where I just tried to keep the innocent mindset of "surely it won't happen to me", but then it happened. Haha I'm definitely scared shitless to leave it anywhere now! Luckily, the ignition cylinder still works. It just wouldn't work for me because the switch was hanging off of the column. That would've been a pricey fix!

Nice, I'll definitely check that stuff out. I was looking at Viper alarms and such earlier. Pretty fancy stuff! I actually have an alarm on it, but the siren started screwing up, so I took it off. All it does is flash it's lights now, which doesn't help much. Haha

              Thanks, man!
And yeah, I'm definitely stepping my security up this time around. Plexiglass windows, digging a moat and filling it with sharks wherever I park, then building a bridge to leave...all of that stuff. Nah, but I've been doing some hefty research, so hopefully it'll stay around for a while longer!

yea flashing lights dont do much for protection yea its pretty good stuff. i spent $1000 on mine. did it at best buy but hey they give warranty. i had a backpack where i used to put my steering wheel, computer and the occasional fuse or relay. i dont even keep my wheel locks in the car. yea i know its risky incase i get a flat, but i rather get a head ache from the back and forth of having some one pick them up from my house than come out side my house n see it on bricks. paranoia 101!!!

You can never be too precautious! That's for damn sure. I'm definitely gonna move the quick release setup a little higher on my to-do list after this... Ballin' AND safe.
The computer idea is definitely a good idea. As much of a pain in the ass as it is the get the connectors in and out of mine, it'd be worth it. Especially with the S300 and all in it...

It would be the most bull shit way for this car to go out... I'm so glad it's safe at home. I'll have the new camera in a couple of days, though! Hopefully she'll be ready for pics by then.
Dry sump is the next big thing I wanna do. Hopefully this doesn't set me back any more than I think it will, because I want that damn setup! Haha

The window is being replaced as we speak (a gift from the parents to make it a little less painful on the wallet for me), then getting re-tinted tomorrow morning. I'll probably go ahead and order those interior pieces tonight, too. I can't believe that stupid ass plastic bezel is $140...

Why don't you try a junkyard for the interior pieces?

And I had to break into my civic once because I left the keys inside. Even without breaking a window, it's way too easy. All i had to do was pull the top of the door back a little, and pull the luck up with a coat hanger. But luckily there's nothing of value inside, and only I know how to open the hood.

                          • Eh, nothing against anyone that gets stuff from junkyards (hell, I help my friends get stuff out there all of the time), but I just always feel the need to use new parts. Haha
And I always knew they were easy to steal, but DAMN. That really opened my eyes to see it all up close. All of the glass shrapnel makes for a good reason to take out the carpet and get new seats, though! Haha
