Left Va Beach Friday at 5:30pm and drove almost 500 miles to Sylva, North Carolina. Spent the night, got up on Saturday and continued driving another 70 miles to Deals Gap, NC to make a couple passes on Tail of the Dragon. Tail of the Dragon if you've never heard of it is on the border of NC/TN. 318 turns in 11 miles.

Here are a couple links from Killboy.com of me driving on the Tail:

Made 2 full passes on the Tail of the Dragon. Started another run, but decided halfway through to turn around after the left front wheel bearing starting complaining loudly on hard corners. Master cylinder is starting to go also, so pedal feel was pretty mushy.

Stopped by Asheville, NC to pick up a set of wheels for a friend & delivered them to Raleigh on the way home.

1300+ miles in 32 hours. Not bad for a 28 year old car with 293,000 miles.

It's a lot of fun to drive, but in the peak months from late spring to the end of summer there is a lot of traffic, mostly motorcycles. There have been 4 deaths this year so far including one the weekend before I went.

The weather held out for us long enough to make the trip. It's probably covered in snow by now. It was pretty much my only shot for driving it before I move to Houston in Dec.
