sold my house, sold my squareback, parted out my gti, & about to sell my gti plus i've been saving one of my two unemployment checks every month for the past few months since cutting my bills down to almost nothing. hopefully the pay off will have me in another car that is paid in full with money to spare on mods

I just work my ass off. Pay my bills and whatever is left at the end of the month, which usually isn't much I will put into something for one of my projects....

            buy now, pay nevar.

i work and go to school full time. i save almost half of the money i make each month, then the rest gets spent on my exspenses, and either buying/ saving for my cars.

1 full time job, 1 part time/full time job, clients for video and photo.

And I still own a bucket.

Got a pay increase by switching jobs this year, so that's where my mod money comes from. I usually get to do one or two small things to my car every month or so.

I think alot has to do with having no car payments. Owning a 2000 dollar car and throwing another 6-8k in mods is easy to do for most people. But owning a car that you have a 500 dollar a month payment on is pretty much using up all your monthly mod money.

To have money to blow on pointless shit like cars, you need to sacrifice somewhere. More hours of work, less partying or luxuries, get qualified and earn a bigger slice of pie, learn to wrench on your own shit etc.

I was assuming most people work on their own shit. I do EVERYTHING myself, and I still find I spend way to much too quickly. I guess it just never feels like enough.

Yeah, I'd love to get out of a payment and into an e34, it's just that since I'm a moron and bought a Hyundai (which has been a great car BTW) it's nowhere near worth what I owe on it after only putting 30k miles on it... fucking depreciation.
