Buy and sell stuff from Junkyards that I know people want and that I can make a quick buck on. I also work for NOS Energy drink out of Chicago, if you were at any of the Hot Import Nights events or anywhere that there was a NOS truck and tent those were my buddies who I work with. I also work for my uncle helping him do installs of home entertainment systems and kitchen cabinetry.
Can't forget the stealing little kids bikes and pawning them off for $5 a pop. That really brings the cash in.
im in at the navy and it pays really well. i have a fully modded supercharged acura cl. if i go to afghanistan later this year like i think i am, im going to buy an nsx or Q45 and vip it when i get back.
I was hired by them in San Marcos when I first moved down there. I never did one thing for them, haha. I almost just bought the 'show' set before I quit just to sell on eBay for profit.
yep, I get days off whenever i want. and thursdays are my party night. I **** that I work so much, but seeing a $600 plus cash under the table every weeks feels damn good. my sister is 24 and I make more money then her.
2k budget a month!!!! i do not even earn so much in a month!
as i am a non american, i used to think that parts in America was cheaper than in Europe, that is partly true i guess but i think that american people want to works more than us.
here, it is pretty rare to see someone, student or not, with 2 jobs, i do so but some people think i am crazy!
when i was student, i was in aprenticeship so i owe some money and had a low cost apartment rent and few bills, at this time i bought a lot of parts (mainly wheels) i never use, so, now i usually sold again those parts and often do some benefits, i can buy new parts for my current projects.
Currently when all is paid (rent, insurances, phone/internet, taxes, groceries) i have about 300euros for parties/week end/mods... i can find some 400 or 500 more by my 2nd work when all is OK.
It is pretty hard to have some insane car here this way...
We do almost ever low cost projects, i guess it is the best way because you have to know how to work/weld/modify etc... i currently try to save some money to buy a MIG welder and go further on my projects by myself but my cars NEVER went/go to a garage except for some settings like my Weber carbs in some months...
Well I dont spend that much but allow that if I want to . Last month I bought style 5's, vaders, AA headers, and track pipe, all new exterior plastics, new windsheild, all new weather seals, new 55w hids and hid fogs. Now I will chill, install then parts, then paint, then nothing for a few months, then a turbo or supercharger...I dont know yet.
All I am saying is I used to make 40k a year with nice S4 35k car and 500 month car payment, now I tripled my income and have no car payment driving a 10k car. I used to **** budgeting and not being able to save, sure I could own a ferrari if I wanted to but damn insurance maintenance etc it would put me back to square 1 having money go out as fast as it comes in
People have to realize, some of the people with ridiculously nice cars don't REALLY make all that much money... They put a ton of shit on credit cards, and don't live all that well OUTSIDE of modding their cars.
I'd have a shit-ton of money to dump into my car every payday... But instead I own a house and properly budget my money with my wife. I have friends who dump almost all of their paycheck into their cars, and then barely have enough money to put gas in when they need it.
How cool is a car when you can't afford to drive it?
