I have really become used to it, I joke about being black and enjoy the jokes as much as anyone else, but its once people actually start directing it at you, or take the jokes too far that I get offended.Originally posted by Atlantian View PostBtw, since you brought up the n-word, how do you feel about kids in the West coast calling each other n-words like they see in movies where they call each other that as if they were calling each other "bro", when neither parties are black.
Or some of my friends use a variation, and say "nikka, what's up?"
I'm kind of desensitized to this now, but I still don't use it. Because when I first started to hear it I was like
because I was raised to believe that word is disgusting and racist.
But some of my friends have explained to me that the term isn't a racial slur to address everyone with brown skin and African American descent, just to describe those who act like a retard and sag their pants.

Stereotyping sucks, but let the school think whatever they like, don't say a damn thing to the cops, keep your mouth shut and ask to contact an attourney ASAP. You will not talk your way out of a court case only talk your way into a conviction. Sounds to me like a staff member of the school was irresponsible and allowed an expensive piece of equipment to sit around unsupervised. Not your problem, END OF STORY.Originally posted by JohnnyVillan View PostSo check this out....
My school is accusing me of stealing a video camera because one went missing during my videography class last week. The teacher is a fuckin redneck and I know I'm only getting blamed cause of the way I look (covered in tattoos, large gauge ears) and the car I drive (slammed, poked, and loud MINI Cooper)
I was parked where the class was working so we could listen to music, and when we started to pack up, I moved my car back over the the school. A few days later everybody in my class is getting phone calls from the school asking about "The suspicious, blue, sports car." Later on I found out that my teacher described my car to his other classes and straight up pinned the whole thing on me.
I talked to the teacher face to face today and I got the vibe from him that he still thinks I did it. He said that if the camera isnt returned by 10pm tomorrow that the school is filing a police report. He also told me that he has the whole thing on camera cause the hotel next door has a security camera facing where we were.
So basically, if something goes missing, blame the kid with tattoos and the low car. I'm gonna go talk to the dean tomorrow before I go to this class. Today I had like 5 people come up to me and ask me if I stole the camera. EVERYBODY at the school thinks Im some sort of thief now.
Anybody else ever have something like this happen because of their car?
and BTW the school is THE ART INSTITUTE OF FT. LAUDERDALE. If you're thinking about going there, DONT, nothing but problems. I've been there since 06 and shit like this always happens. Terrible school.

How do I know this you ask. . . I was once accused of stealing a car from a dealership lot that went missing b/c the dealership manager told the cops it had to be one of the techs b/c "they" can get around the security on the cars and we have "all the keys accounted for". a week later it turned up without wheels two counties away. Key in the ignition, Later found out a detailer had "misplaced" the key but told his boss "he was sure it was in his pocket of the pants he was wearing the day before." So detailer's boss told the dealer manager all keys were "accounted for" 2 days spent questioning the techs was wasted and got the cops no where but they thought it was us up until the prints came back proving otherwise.

A [potentially poor] analogy: gas is dirt cheap in America compared to the rest of the world, but it's still expensive.Originally posted by Uyles View PostI used America as an example because, well...I live here. Generally you know more about the country you live in than one you don't.
Why do people still complain about racism in America? I don't know, maybe it's the fact that it has survived for hundreds of years when our government was supposedly built on freedom and equality, even though there are hundreds of anti-racism organizations and whatever else. You can't really sugarcoat it.
Racism MAY NOT BE AS BAD HERE as it is in other countries, but the fact that it exists at all is bad.
Saying "at least we arent setting car bombs in another neighborhood" is basically as general as me saying "at least there isn't a nuclear war right now" or "at least I didn't run over a small child driving to school".

4th amendment protects you against unreasonalbe searches and seizures. That law in AZ is most definitely unconstitutional. I honestly can't believe it passed, i mean i know its AZ but damn.
i do like their gun laws though

The US government structure isn't exactly efficient or well run by any means. Shit is bad here and it's bad in other countries as well.
The same rights that allow people in the US to freely practice their beliefs/religions/etc. are the same rights that protect **** groups unfortunately, but if they were censored or restricted, it wouldn't be constitutional so it is what it is on that end. The legislation in AZ is very poorly executed but the general idea makes sense. It's just that it can't be put into practice without profiling and possibly being unconstitutional so therein lies the problem with that. It may not be perfect here, but there have been improvements throughout the years and it will continue to do so.Originally posted by prodigee View PostYeah but you are missing the point of what we are saying. Again with the America is so bad comment. Im not some kind of patriot thats for sure but seeing other parts of the world made me realize something.
Have you ever heard of Yugoslavia? How about Darfur? And the reason why we are still in Iraq and Afghanistan? People killed each other do to differences/stereotypes.
Its happened since humans walked the Earth for one reason or another. Do we have non stop ethnic wars rising from stereotypes do to our feelings about other races in America? Not that Im aware of.
Names are one thing, at least we arent setting car bombs in other neighborhoods like they were in Northern Ireland cause people were " different".
I never once said racism is void in America, now it is you that is putting words in anothers mouth. Im saying people need to look past it and realize its not so bad.
