Have you ever heard of Yugoslavia? How about Darfur? And the reason why we are still in Iraq and Afghanistan? People killed each other do to differences/stereotypes.

Its happened since humans walked the Earth for one reason or another. Do we have non stop ethnic wars rising from stereotypes do to our feelings about other races in America? Not that Im aware of.

Names are one thing, at least we arent setting car bombs in other neighborhoods like they were in Northern Ireland cause people were " different".

I'm not one to prejudge anyone based on their outward appearance but you also have to call a spade a spade. It's become the norm to be as politically correct as possible which is bullshit and just sugarcoating what people are thinking/believe in so as not to offend anybody (this is by no means justification for stereotyping, it's just something that was on my mind while reading more of this thread lol)

That's the thing. People believe it's a huge deal in America because of our ideals as a nation and the type of population we have. That and it's also sometimes used as a crutch when people don't get what they want.

But they are from a different culture and a different era (they had me when they were 45) and we are two generations apart.

Sorry but comments like this burn me up.

I have been stereotyped my whole life for many reasons. Im white, blue eyed and come from a German/Dutch background.

I have been called this and that way before I stretched my ears and got tattoos.

But I will say this, this whole BS with racism in America and stereotyping is the biggest fraud and is overrated.

Go to almost any other country in the world and see what life's like there. Some countries no longer exist cause of ethnic tensions and stereotypes.

this is indeed true. Other countries are worse. My parents are cuban and argentinian and both sides of my family are racist (not my parents). Its extremely uncomfortable whenever they make a comment about it.

Haha, sorry man. I was totally joking. Not entirely sure if you got it... I grew up in neighborhoods where white kids were the minority. I'm probably the least racist person you could ever meet. I actually dislike more white kids than kids of any other race. I just tend to crack jokes about race generated stereotypes because I find it almost amusing that people are still ACTUALLY racist.
