Current "Dream Builds" are slightly realities.
1. Mk6 Jetta 2.5, Stage 2 Tune(Idk where from yet), full exhaust, intake and other lil goodies, bags and some high end wheels, probably Bentleys.
2. In planning is an '87 Olds Cutlass Cruiser Brougham Wagon. Rebuilt Buick 3.8, new internals, better fuel system, probably a VGT Turbo off a John Deere tractor, new brakes, concealed cage, Takatas up front and a new suspension and new wheels(no clue what yet)

Dual S472's would take forever to spool. Dual CP3's? Commonrail swap into a second gen?

Better off with a p-pumped 24v or a 12v. Run a 62/65/12 secondary with an S472 primary. You'll need more than 150's to light those though. 1000hp is attainable on a stock block. Would need a cam, valve springs, and push rods though.

I've always wanted a Cummins and picked one up about 2 months ago:



02 6-speed. All supporting mods. Still VP'd but ready for a 62/65/12 with 125hp SAC style injectors. Aiming for 500hp and 1000 ft lbs of torque. Thinking about a p-pump down the road.

My great grandpa's 67 ford truck he bought new. Bagged, laying frame, 5.3-6.0L ls truck motor, t56, LSA blower, methanol injection, 180degree headers with cutout dump out the pass fender, wheels in ~20-22 sizes that are unexpected at a streetrod meet. original burgundy paint with original patina, original styled interior. flush bed cover with kickup spoiler on the end, full bellypan and ~1 inch off ground as ride height

THe more I think the longer the lis gets

I think the e30 or 78ish vette will be the next big thing for me, or Grandpa's 67 ford truck that will lay frame as well

I guess we all have some kind of crazy build in our mind.. But as of something possible, I have 2 or 3 on my to do list:

1. An audi 100 c1 ls, black, bagged, on some clean polished wide wheels, nothing to special, just a nice old DD.

2. A MGB GT (yeah i know ) race prepped with a twin turbo'ed rover v8 aluminium engine, roll cage, some old race seats, with sebring fenders...

3. Something a bit strange, but I would really like to build a catheram seven, with, of course, the most powerful engine that could fit in

I kinda want to convert a Saab 900 to rwd and put some sort of turbo inline six in it, nothing crazy powerwise though. Just keep the grand tourer character of the Saab but add RWD fun and smooth power. Throw some bags on it and a nice set of wheels and just go cruisin' through Europe.


I already have the 900 now, but I kinda feel I should do it to some f'd up rusted out coupe instead of my sedan lol.

I love the idea of this thread. My roomate's and I (all car guys) often sit around our firepit chugging down beers talking about car ideas/shit we wish we had the time/money/garage space to build.

I'll start with a few "oddball" cars that I seldom seen done up and would love to take a stab at building. *I should note that it goes without saying that all of these car ideas share one thing in common - these are all seldom cars you see slammed w/ aggressive fitment.

- 3000GT VR-4 convertible - About as rare as they come, super wide, can accomodate some super zany wheels and can make gobs of power with some aftermarket support. As far as mods go.......full Bomex aero (so early 2000's brah!), some 18" or 19" x WIDE wheels and lots of upgrades under the hood to get this whale up to speed.

- Volvo C70 - Generally viewed as a soccer mom's car or perhaps something a "spirited" elderly lady might peruse about town in. However, I view it as what it is - a turbocharged 5-cylinder hardtop convertble that looks like a coupe when the top is up. They actually made a coupe version years ago however I don't think they were turbocharged at that time. If I owned one i'd slam it on some 3-piece Fifteen52's, upgrade the turbo components and rock a huge FMIC. People definitely wouldn't expect that from a C70.

- Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart - Honestly nothing cool about this car asides from the fact that it was Mitsubishi's answer the the Altima SE-R (another wildly unpopular & overlooked car) and is basically all but extinct nowadays. But that's why I love it. I honestly can't even rememer the last time I saw one in person and they were made for TWO generations! I'd like to own a black on slammed on some VIP style wheels.

- Cadillac XLR / XLR-V - What's not to love about a Cadillac Corvette? Sure, it featured a heavy-as-balls Northstar V8 rather than an LS series engine, but it was still a Corvette underneath. This, much like my current car (Crossfire SRT-6) is a car that primarily old dudes drive and seldom do anything aftermarket to it worth mentioning. At best you might see an XLR with some aftermarket wheels & a cat-back exhaust. If I owned one i'd look into retrofitting an SLS C5 Corvette rear-mount twin-turbo kit to it along with slamming it on some ADV1's. Of course to achieve such a goal i'd either need to win the lottery or acquire a much better job.....lol.

Some runner-up's include the Mazda MX-3, Nissan NX, Toyota Paseo, Mazda 6 wagon and the Suzuki XC-90. I know I know......alot of miserable cars in that line-up....but sometimes you have to start with something no one wanted in order to achieve something completely unique.

I'm also going to add a Volvo S80 to the list. Think of it as the 7-series of the Volvo world. Big body land yacht and would look dope slammed on some deep-lipped wheels.
