Feeling Kinda Lost Lately....

So i'm 20 years old and I have no idea what I wanna do with my life...

I'm working part time as a loss prevention associate at a department store(which is a friggin awesome job btw)

But I have no idea what I wanna persue as a career or anything. There are definately a lot of advancement oppurtunities at the store i'm at, I have gotten into photography lately, and of course all I think about is cars almost, but I have heard a lot of people say that's kinda a dead end career path...

I'm a full-time student with no major, I'm taking transfer classes at a community college till I can decide wtf I wanna do....

Anyone else in the same boat??

I know the feeling. I mean its not on the same level as you but in my HS, I am have only a few friends in my entire school of 1500 students. I used to have a whole bunch of good friends but now its down to like 3 in the school. I have a few good friends outside my school. But I don't know I feel lost in my own life sometimes, I have no idea why. I just feel really empty.

Wow I can't believe I just said that on the internet. I have never said that to anyone before, its been inside me for a few months now. Consider yourselves lucky.

prodigee, as far as friends go, you're set. Trust me; as much as it sucks, I only keep in contact with two of my friends from high school. Once you get into college, you get friends for life. That's a promise dude. You're gonna meet shitloads of new people because you'll change a lot. Not to be all sappy or anything....

But anyway....I'm sort of in the same boat. I turn 21 in two weeks , BUT I procrastinated in declaring my major, have no idea what I wanna do with my life, and to top it all off, I'm paying 35,000 a year at my school to not have a clue what I want to do with the rest of my life. Everything I get into just seems "eh" to me. Haven't really found "that thing" yet...

I get that same feeling too at times. I have good friends, and a great fam and am really fortunate, however I just can't help but feel down or like it's all pointless. I think it's just something everyone goes through. Give it some time, and it might clear up, it usually does for me.

I mean I know I should be happy I got into Penn State my number one choice. I am finally beginning to feel comfortable in my own skin, but I have so few friends, and as hard as this is to admit, really only talk to one girl who I see more as a best friend than anything else (even though she is very attractive). But really you know its bad when you only talk to ONE girl on a regular basis, and thats not an exaggeration. FML...

I feel you brandon. Im almost 20 in college for automotive technologies. I never wanted to go to college until a year ago when my buddy suggested I go to the same college as him. I just picked my major because I liked working on cars. I figured if im going to be doing this for the rest of my life, ill be damn sure I like it. Ever since then ive never been happier. I wake up every morning to go to class learning about what I like to do. I have countless friends who just go to college because they're parents forced them into it and major in whatever made the most money. They **** it. Pick your major something you like to do and stick with it.

And trust me, theres money to be made in automotive. The car isnt going to disappear any time soon. You just have to have the right degree/certificate and live in a good area.
A place with people who have money + their cars = $$$$$

No worries, Im 30 this October and I feel the same. Just roll with it and keep moving forward and if your work is not challenging you keep up with your schooling.

Even when you think you have someing in your sights, things change. I just left a career of 7yrs due to the given market and pretty much started over.

Dude, your going to penn state. Youll meet people in like .4323 seconds haha. Trust me, I only talk to 2 good friends from highschool still. The rest are from college and are legit. And if you dont meet anyone in PSU, hit me up haha i go to college 45mins from there in wiliamsport.

@prodigee. Dude i have never had a lot of friends. I mean in HS I knew a lot of people and a lot of people knew me but they were all douches and I knew that.That's why in HS I was only concerned about having a few GOOD friends. people I could count on and stuff. I have like 5 GOOD friends and we're still best friends today! so don't sweat it man! 2 good friends is better that 200 "friends" that you can't count on or talk to or trust.

Noooo. All that stuff is certificate. UTI, Wyotech, ect... I go to Pennsylvania of Technology in Wiliamsport. Its a associates degree in automotive technologies. If you like working on cars, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Especially at PSU, you'll meet tons and TONS of girls. So no worries there, but there are also TONS of sluts. So watch out if you know what I mean hahahaha

Another thing, whatever you do, don't join a frat. Probably the most counter-productive thing a dude can do in college...There's plenty of fun things to do without being a complete dick and making yourself look like a douche.
