I **** how my dad gets sketched out about things cause they're cheap. For example, 240's. My friend is selling his S13 shell for $300. Clean title, just needs engine, tranny, diff, and driveshaft. I can get the engine and tranny for around $500 or so from a friend, and I would need to ask my friend at Nissan how much I can get the diff and driveshaft from him. But my dad is being a bitch about it.
him: "$500 for just the engine and transmission? That sounds too cheap"
me: "Well yeah, it's a 240."
him: "Well it is a used engine so it's probably beat up"
me: "Well no shit it's used, but this guy doesn't beat his 240. He's a neat freak and whatnot."
him: "When I had my Mazda, I used to pay $800 to get it rebuilt every time it blew."
me: "That's a Mazda. It was an '88, and they weren't really popular at the time you had it so there wasn't that many replacement parts...there still probably isn't many OEM."
him: "Idk, that sounds a little too cheap. You need a job first anyways."
