  • ...seriously, you guys are so lazy not driving shift all the time.
Its just.. automatic was never even mentioned in my house/driving lessons/circuit/head.

I find it boggling that so many Americans Do Not Know How. D8 Sorry to generalise there, but I have a few online friends, and according to them (they are not car people) I am a GOD for driving shift.

I totally know what you mean.
Latelly I been telling people to fuck off and that they should do shit on their own.
I am tired of people calling me and asking me how to do things or whats wrong with their car or where to get some car parts.
Fuck, I didnt just wake up one morning and knew everything I know now and people didnt just started calling me and offering me to give me better prices on parts.
Everyone must learn something on their own.

Btw, Just ordered new front suspension and crankcase vent valve. Everything is OEM, bye bye $1400.

        lol

I've been driving 5-Speed as my DD for about 7 years now. It doesn't bother me.

I wouldn't call it being lazy... American culture just wasn't based around it. I drive standard because I enjoy it more, but calling Americans lazy for it, thats just ignorant. European cars were far different for decades, only recently have they become more closely related.

I started driving manual car when I was 11 (my dad used to take me on deserted roadon our way to my grandparents house). I was 17 when I for the first time drove auto.
Its just not everyone wants to shift ifthey dont have to.
I dont fucking race my car all day long. I use my car for commuting and cruising!

                  Ditto.

Its gotten to the point for me that between school and work I don't even have time to work on my own hooptie, so I tell people I sure as hell don't have the time to take on other "projects."

I usually give them idea of what it could be, but then always say,"I think it is it, but I dont know much about cars. So you might want to check with specialist!".

                            • Well based on replies to my earlier comments - Stanceworks is an epic place full of people who drive. Still don't get the idea that shift is for racing only?

Ah well - I was changing my oil the other day (well, actually directing my friend, who wanted to learn how) and we got a few stares from the guys in the student flats. It was as if two girls changing oil was a horrific car crash or something. xD
Ok, we did rub it all over my boyfriend's Rover afterwards.

I should shut up, its 3:34am.

                              • I wanted to re-spray my front bumper before SoWo, but it doesn't look like I'll have the time to get it done.
