              It would cost me nearly 500$ each way if i packed a mtn stove and ramen

                                its 3k miles each way. You can comfortably drive 1k miles per day.
                                If you dont ball out of control and budget yourself you can make this trip both ways in under $1500 no doubt in it. Thats less than $750 each.

                                Not bad deal for seeing half of the country, if you ask me!
