Roman, go back over those areas with coarser paper and work your way up again just in that area of the scratches. You'll be there forever with 3k paper.

Nah the scratches are very faint ones left by the 2k paper, you can't see them in that pic, but close up they make the mirror finish look dull

Go back to 1000, sand them out, then sand with 2000 again. Those scratches probably aren't from the 2000 paper.

so how long should i be sanding with eacht grit?

got 1 - 1.5 - 2K

Until you have uniform sanding through out the lips. If you notice one scratch that is deeper then the rest then you must continue to sand it out. If its taking too long with your current grit then just move down a gritt or two depending on how big and deep the scratch it. Then work your way up again.

2k is ideal for polish. i sanded up to 600 for my polisher and check the lips i posted.
