On a side note. My brother and I were ripping this black diamond on our hill wondering how fast we were going. I guess 40 mph and he guessed 25. I have an app on my phone that records your max speed. I turned it on at the top of our run an checked it at the bottom. Turns out max speed hit was 52. Blew our minds. Thank god my skis are wicked stable at speeds. lol

Lol dude, you don't even know. You go so much faster than you think. When I raced, I was clocked at 73. THAT is frightening, especially when you think about the conditions, and what could happen if you fell. When I had my biggest crash when I was racing, I was doing 64, that shit hurt. I can only imagine how it would be for the Olympic racers when they crash at 80+....

I taught myself to ski watching other people and just trial and error. I think if you've ski'd before and used to do it well it would be easy to pick it back up.

The speed of the fall is not normally the key issue, the important part is at what speed to you become stationary.
