I have driven both in an E36 Ti. Both are complete and utter crap.

If you want something relatively budget, get a set of AP or DTS Line. They're essentially KW V1s (both AP and DTS are owned by KW) with a bit cheaper shocks and no inox line struts. The DTS can be had for 350€... not sure if you get those in the states tho.
