Cause you're impressed by old pos cars (such as mine), and think of them as baller status.
I actually don't consider your car "baller status" at all, its a low e39 with wheels. Cool beans yo!
I'm impressed by people who take the time to put work into something, and make something of it. If a stock Ferrari showed up to a meet and parked next to say, the KDF Mangler, I'm going to be much more impressed by the KDF Mangler than the Ferrari.
I agree with Kielan there though, the whole put time and money into it thing. If you have money, its easy to go out and build a 'showstopper' using other people's time and workshops and paying your way to the top.
If you don't have money, and you have to work your ass off for what little you can get, then the time and what scraps of change you can save that goes into personal work on a project means so much more.

I never said otherwise. We were talking about what does baller word means. I personally like build car myself a lot more then catalog specials.
