I figured the same thing. I'm pulling the car apart this spring for a restoration and hopefully a set of Formula Mesh's or Western Ways.

Yea its a subaru... its awd. not just drop a drive shaft and yank a trans. I had to wait for parts, go pick up oil. and fought with the throwout bearing and pilot bearing for a bit. the throwout bearing was siezed so bad it was spinning the inner race around the input shaft.
