                There may be a lot of poisonous and dangerous things, but most are in regional areas away from where the people live(other than a few spiders and snakes that live close to people )

                Apparently we had a few earthquakes in Melbourne last year, except I felt none, even missed the strongest one, while friends who live nearby said it was very noticeable.

                          only in Queensland which is the sub-tropic region and even then, there is hardly any fatalities from Box Jellyfish, they just cause a lot of pain.

                          What you would be more worried about is Irukandji jellyfish in Queensland, coz they are only the size of a thumbnail and can be hard to detect on someone who has been stung.
