    This.

This $10k car is my daily driver.

This week, this $100k+ car is my daily (bday present from my wife):

Don't get me wrong, I love my e36, but this 991 Cab S is better in every single way! Even in ways I didn't even know a car could be better! The 991 blows my mind with acceleration, handling, brakes, and has damn near the luxury of a Bentley! I've only spent two days with the car (2 more left!) and it's an incredible experience.

The e36 is great "bang-for-the-buck" considering it's 1/10 the cost of admission, but there's plenty of benefits to new cars. Sure scraping around town with tight fitment is good fun, but I'm not kidding myself that this 991 is about as good as car driving gets!

I'd compare it to a semi-hot girl who's a freak in the sheets (old car). No doubt she can get you off, but, given the chance, you know you'd rather have a night with a Victoria's Secret Angel of your choice (new car).

Of course paying for it is a completely different conversation...

My point is more based on quality of the actual material used to manufacture with... I mean the new bmw paint even sucks, lol damn robo orange peal!

if for some reason i come into a HUGE amount of money, i may consider another german car.

Its amazing how much people love unreliable cars (bmw and vw to be specific). Mechanically they work fine, but all the computers mess everything up.

i have owned 3 e30s, 3 e28's, and an e36. I do not currently own, nor do i ever plan on buying, another BMW. I've had enough of the wiring issues and sketchy electronics.

I've owned one bmw, never again

They'll be 20 year old "classics".

They'll be affordable and kids will end up buying them and ruining them. Kind of like what we did in the early 2000's.

Difference is, we'll be the old fucks driving around in muscle car-esque "classics" that will be revered.

"Holy shit, you have an M3 that doesn't have a GPS tracker or wheelspin detector? That's so badass!"
"And I can even turn off the traction control just by pushing a button."

Me too. I'm sure people, 20, 30, 40 years ago were saying the same thing about the new cars of their day.

you must be talking about german cars, needlessly complicated with way too many electronic doo-hickeys.

i bought my first brand new car when i was 18 (no co-signer), 2007 honda civic Si sedan. I paid it off in under 4 years, and gave it to my sister to drive to college (she totaled it 4 months later).

I bought another brand new car when i was 22 (again, no-cosigner). 2010 silverado, i kept it until february of this year, and i sold it with just under 50k miles for more than i owed on it.

both cars were great, but there were far too many electronic things to work with. i like being able to bolt on parts and feel the performance increase immediately, without being FORCED to re-tune/re-flash

Will i buy another brand new car? highly unlikely.
Older cars are easier to mod, less complicated to work on, and its easier to find low cost (not cheap) quality parts.

The insurance is much cheaper on an older car, especially since you don't need full coverage.

They are fun cause you get eyeball fucked by most everybody on the road. I have driven my moms 65 t-bird, several 67-71 camaros, 65 mustang, 71 mustang, 70 challenger and a 63 vette. The vette was the easiest and funnest to drive. Everything else just sucked when I am trying to navigate the backroads that I live on. Hell anything bigger than a civic sucks to drive where I am at.
