Could offer the aftermarket parts to the buyer too as options at some additional cost

I see where you're going. Good point. However, this is also to be down the road. Obviously if I don't have a job, and have no money, it will e a no brainer. But now I have a full time job with 30% pay increase. If I can manage to dig myself in and keep this steady job, I don't think I'll have the problem with the bimer. But as I said, it all depends on where I'm at down the road.

tasteful mods add to value, shit even dealerships do this, adding aftermarket remote starts, overhead/headrest entertainment, Sirius/XM, adding a Nav to a car without one..or lets say the performance add ons, lexus has their Fsport stuff, you can add an intake to any is/gs car, better suspension, even body mods

        I can go on.

now Nigerian engineering some BS sound system, half assing a motor swap, blacking out all your lights with plastidip.....this kind of whack crap is the NO NO DOOKIE list.
You have a good point but Oxer does have you there. I've half assed everything. But I want to change that. Take my time. Do things right. Stop rushing.

That's one of things I've been thinking about. I want to start over. New car. New project. And doing it right this time. I want to take the time to do a project right. No more half ass china shit. Please atleast try to understand I'm trying to improve. As I've seen, you can pick up a shitty dull set of BBS rims for 700. But with a little TLC, they can look brand new.

Also, I'd like to start on a car actually worth modding.

Oh man I know. Plus the options with a BMW are so much greater than my celica. It's like hey, want a nice Stock DD? Perfect fit. Want to lower it a bit, do some bolt ons, and track it? Perfect fit. Want to slam it on bags and make a sick car to turn heads? Perfect fit. Want something to gut and drift? Perfect fit. Want something to just dump shit tons of useful power? Perfect fit. It's an all around solid car.

An 06 325, probably the worst choice for a BMW you could possibly make.

Add $6600 supercharger to a mustang. Congrats you maybe increased the value 2 grand. Drop and wheels 1300 max, and thats probably what you pay for in suspension.Nobody wants somebodys elses project ever.

You cant just add the price at what you bought the parts for onto the value. you take what the parts will sell for alone and take about 2/3s of that and that is how much you might be able to add on.

I have seen cars with over 30000 invested plus the car go for maybe 20k including the car.

Thats understood. I don't want power though. So I'm not worried about it. I'm more worried about wheels and suspension. Still not cheap though.

Look I know people like to give you shit for your Celica, but don't sell it because other people don't like it. Build a car for you, I mean you're going to be the one driving it every day; not some guys on the forums. Sure you made a mistake by posting your build thread on this forum specifically, but don't let that deter you from your current project and send you towards buying a more 'Stanceworks appealing' car.

As stated already BMW's are money-pits. An '06 325i is not worth your time either, while it's a nice car there are much better BMW's you can get for the $10k-$12k price-range. Just realize what you're getting into, and also realize that buying a new car won't get you away from the previous build.

Bottom line; do it for you.

Out of that entire reply, this was the only part you were even in the neighborhood of being right. Mods are a piss-poor investment.

                        A small word of advice.

Don't exhaust yourself of funds just to own something. If you make $x,xxx a week, and a BMW costs $x,xyy a week, you're selling yourself short. Not to mention, you don't account for a giant hike in insurance costs, parts for when things break, and consumables (fuel, oil changes, tires, etc.) which are leaps and bounds more expensive than a Japanese car.

Coming from someone who owns both- plan on spending twice what you're expecting to own a BMW. Then double it if you want to keep it nice and mod it tastefully.

                          Dude, just keep the Celica.

Get rid of the rice shit, quit hacking shit together, and turn the car into something decent. Sounds like you're trying to build a car the internet wants you to build.

Save the money you'd use to buy a different car, sell the Rotas or whatever the hell they are, get some real wheels, and you'll be on the right track.

Here's the big thing, I don't want the celica anymore. The car is honestly a waste of time and isn't really worth the time/money/effort.

And I haven't looked too deep into the other bmw options, im not that far along yet. But What's wrong with the 06 325i? I've mostly chosen it because of the way it looks inside and out with all the luxeries that come with it. But unlike my celica (impulse buy), the bmw will get plenty of research before it's ever even considered.

On the first note, I understand on funds. as i just said up there^ more research will be going into it this time. I'll do my best to do it right this time.

On a second note, I plan on running it stock for quite a while.

First, It's not what the "internet wants me to build", I thoroughly enjoy the looks/drive/comfort of the bmw I like. And I'll be selling the xxr's and going stock anyways.

Normally parting out is a good idea but for this car I would keep the wheels and suspension on it. They will help the sale and get you more money in the end IMO. The wheels and suspension are worth what like 500 bucks? And who's interested in buying a car like this? Some dumb kids, no offense. It just depends on the demographic your car is appealing to. Unless it's been stock for it's whole life and that's a selling point, I usually will buy some $200 cheap ass wheels off craigslist to put on a car I'm selling and it will make it move. We're talking e36s, s13s, civics, etc. People always want some rimz and suspenzuns for those cars, and they don't care what they are as long as they got the tuner look man.

I see what youre saying. The worth of the car is probably 3500 in my area. Like you said, my kind of car really only apeals to stupid teenagers. And what parent wants to spend 4-5k on a car with a bunch of parts not professionaly installed? (If I touch up the rims, i could probably sucker someone out of 700 for the rims with the tires considering it was almost 2k. With the suspension still being only a thousand miles old, I could probably sucker someone between 300-500). Im hoping to clean up the car and make it look really nice and sell it stock for hopefully 4-5k. Then give an option for the parts or sell seperately.

You know? If you see any flaws with that, please point them out.
