    ^ Greensboro!

Something I've noticed a lot of recently is "Want to trade for something with an offset" or "rims for sale offsets 15 4x100" on the local wheel facebook groups. Be specific. Everything has an offset.

    **Holiday/Vacation rant coming**

Working on holidays that are pretty universally days off for 98% of companies in the US. Up until last year my company had Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Easter(usually the Monday), and a few others off but only had one day Xmas and Thanksgiving day itself off(now we have 2 days for each in exchange for pretty much ALL of our other days off). But we've had a little increase in orders and production on certain holidays depending on the race schedule some years but not always. A little back story I work at a decal shop that does vehicle wraps for Nascar and commercial customers. It's not uncommon for us to get a call on Friday afternoon and produce an entire graphics set for a race team with a new sponsor or if they hit a wall and destroy a primary car and have it across the country in 36 ours or less. But I work on the commercial side so I'm particularly DEAD on these holidays. NONE of my customers are open on 4th of July for example... But I HAVE to be here because "someone from each department has to be here when we're open, you never know when a customer may call" - says the manager with the day off. Last year on the 4th the whole company had 2 phone calls, one was a wrong number.

So the peeve comes in when all the managers and decision makers that decided we need to be open but then they all take the day off because they don't want to work those holidays... That shit pisses me off to no end. The only people I know working on the 4th are people who work in restaurants. I don't have a day off the entire year until November. NOVEMBER!

But I guess it's all good, I'm not using my personal days off and I'm sitting here catching up until about 10am. Then I'm completely done and caught up on EVERYTHING which is very rare. Then from 10am on I'm just chilling because all managers and authority are enjoying their time off and I'm here, getting paid to sit idle and watch the clock. I'd still rather be at the lake, or at home messing around, or reorganizing my sock drawer...

    /RANT OVER/

[QUOTE=benz88;1321827]People who call Mercedes, "Mercs" Call them Benz's or M-B's.

I've always called them "Mercs" because Top Gear says it so much. Honestly didn't know it bothered people.

I can't stand a company like XXR that blatantly rips off a design and manufactures it out of low grade material with little to no thought to the actual construction.

    That's me

I have quick releases because the bumper clips were snapped off by the PO and the bumper cover was JB welded to the fender, but I still have 4 screws holding on the grille and a license plate relocator that's screwed into the bumper support. Oh yeah, the black rubber bands were so cheap that they dryrotted and fell off, so I am using neon zipties.

Oh yeah, technically OZ futuras could be considered reps. The original wheels were produced by Koenig Specials(they build some pretty strange ferrari's way back when), and then they sold the design to SSR(they had 3 different lip options), OZ, desmond(the guys who make the Regamaster Evo), and Modia(I think it's a Keiichi Tsuchia company).

I wouldn't really call Avant Garde reps, as they have quite a few of their own designs. I think that like Rotiform, they are just recycling a timeless design that is either near unobtainable or out of production. Look at the Panasport banana spoke wheels, RS watanabe's, and Enkei Compe's(original 80's style, and new). They all build a wheel with a timeless design, and high quality, yet none is a replica of the other I guess.

When multiple Tractor Trailers or big trucks(5Tons) take up both the slow and fast lane. There should be a rule for them to stay right

Man that's such tough one. On one hand you have brands like XXR and Drag which are just junk poser wheels made out of bits of cardboard and aluminum foil. But on the other hand you have "legit" manufacturers like Rotiform where nearly their entire lineup is inspired by (and very close to replicating) many existing & past wheels from truly legit manufacturers like Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. So where are the "fake" wheel critics when Rotiforms show up in threads? Sure they are manufactured at high standards but they are hardly original designs.

Personally I spent the last two years looking for the perfect set of OZ Futuras in a size/offset/bolt pattern that I could make work for my desired setup. Alas I'm still empty handed, so I had a set of Avant Garde's made up in the dimensions I need. But any way you slice it they're still Futura reps :[ While I may be part of the "fake" wheel camp I feel more content with my setup than I would being one of those guys with a bone stock car tucking ill-fitting Bentley wheels acting like my car is pure swag.
