I would like to have a good weekend so not thinking about this to start it would be good.

I paid 17k originally for a swapped car which was other wise stock as shit.

Then I flew to New York and drove it back so we will say I had 18.5 k into it at the start 4 years ago

And we will just stop there

I totalled up what I had into the 3 peice LMs a few days ago and peed a little

Jetta, bought for 700, spent about 7k rebuliding it, swapping interior to recaro, 3 sets of suspension, wheels tires and such

Ruckus bought for 750, maybe 1200 for the swap and all the parts, maybe 2700 into it, sold for 2500.

Zuma, prolly around 7k into that, for a scooter..... had it since end of may

edit rdering another 700 worth of parts for the zuma, Motor build is upwards of 2500 in parts

starting mine right now actually!
96 civic hatch (mint) $1500, $500 coils, $200 wheels n tires. give or take another 200 for speakers and headliner. done! gonna stay super clean and super stock. ill save enough $ on gas/maintenance itll pay itself off in no time.

A bunch of other shit. If I add everything up it's way more than I would have liked to spend & I haven't even had the car for a year.

Would I do it over again? Yes, but there are some things along the way the cost me alot of time and money that I never got back (some of you may know what I am referring to) but I refuse to mention that here.

Bought my Touring for 3800€ / 4850$ and by now I've got pretty much 11.000€ / 14.000 $ into it.

Hurts to think about. Especially as I'm considering another repaint and stuff next year as I'm not satisfied with the quality.

But in the end, I know I will never ever sell this car so I don't really care how much I spend on it. This car is an extension of myself and in the end it's all worth it, to me.

$3500 for the stang to start with.
Dumped another $500 in tires, fluids, bearings, registration, etc... to get it on the road.
Put about $9k in for motor, cams, exhaust, wheels, fuel system, supercharger, interior and all the other little bits and pieces along the way...
Got back $900 for the old trans. Still have a boatload of spare parts to sell including a good motor.
Should be able to flirt with high 10's with practice (and assuming I don't scatter my axles all over the track.)

Still need fresh rubber for the new wheels ($500)
Beef up the rear end/suspension ($600)
New tubular front end and CO's ($700)
CGF FF turbo headers and other misc turbo needs ($1500)
That should put it deep into the 9's without much fuss.

The whole ordeal was a nightmare though. So many broken parts, so many problems...

But every time I take it out and that Eaton screams or the wheels break loose without any effort I can't help but think it's worth it.

Not sure about how the compound boost phase will go though...

$550 just to get it on the road (registration, taxes, ect)
$250 into a tune-up


I'm writing this now, so in a year I can look back and see how fast it snowballed.

$1.2-1.5k for tires (Blizzak WS70s and Pilot Super Sports)
$200 for a Progress RSB
Maybe $500 for total parts cost (plugs, bulbs, endlinks, tie rods, maintenance shit)
About $500 on oil changes (Motul 100% syn for $35/5L, every oil change, can't complain)
$150 for a wheel I broke last winter

And about $100 on AUX cables. I have shitty, shitty luck with those cables.

Would I do it all again? With a E36 or E46 M3, yes.

then I got air ride, full E-Level setup and Airlift bags - $3500?
OEM HID reps $500
So many other things + maintenance over the past 3 years = who knows how much. I don't like thinking about it like this. When I look at my Mercedes, it makes me feel good about the VW though;

W108 was $900 + $300 to get it towed 200 kms home
Parts to fix it and get it going again = $50 bucks
Window regulator - $100
Air ride was pieced together with spares but probably equates to about $500
Had to get new tires on it as well but I traded some bbs parts for them (~$400 value)

I've finally figured out that buying a good base saves you money in the long-run.

I've put $800 into mine.

$600 for KW V1's (I got an amazing price from a local guy) and $200 for spacers and extended lugbolts to run them. My next investment will be wheels, but I've got a while to go.
